Over time, humans have achieved amazing and wondrous things. In Sophocles’, “Ode to man” the chorus makes a claim about these accomplishments; “Wonders are many, and none is more wonderful than man.”(77). This claim by the chorus essentially means that no matter how many amazing achievements humans have accomplished, none can compare to the wonder of man. By stating this, we the audience know that the chorus views the wonder of man to be the greatest accomplishment. I feel that youtube and its ability to connect me and users like me to many different people is a truly amazing achievement. Youtube is a place where anyone with internet connection can go and enjoy different videos that people create. It is useful for a spectrum of people, educators can go online to youtube and find educational videos to show their class. I use it when ’m bored and want to watch one of my favorite YouTuber’s videos. I also use it to play music and to find more information about a subject or further educate myself on an issue or topic. My little brothers use it to watch instructional videos on how to build different legos. My mom uses YouTube to find instructional videos about how to further decorate and organize our house. My dad uses it to watch videos on the latest golf and poker matches. YouTube is used by all of my family and most of my friends also use it to watch videos. It is a very large part of my life and the lives of others and connects the community through a whole new type of social media. Some questions I devised after reading the chorus’ claim are, Why does no achievement compare to man if man created all of the other accomplishments? I also thought about how at this time in Greece, all of the accomplishments that we have today have not been pursued yet, so with that I wonder would their claim be different if the story was written in modern
