This essay aims to investigate study and career pathways in social work to discuss what is a social worker's responsibilities and duty to the community and their clients, and the qualifications that a social worker is required to obtain. it will also consider future opportunities. Social work varies in a number of ways, officially a social worker's main responsibility is to support anyone that is in a crisis, to negotiate and talk about the problems that may occur and to work with the community to build strength around social issues by apply and abiding by the New Zealand law. Social workers may also give advice around benefits and accommodation. They also have to be able to give advice around human rights and responsibilities and to be able to report and write case notes, social workers may have to deal with stressful clients or a distressed member of the public. Becoming a social worker will also require for you to work long hours and also after hour shifts whether it be full time or part time.
