The evolution of technology has constantly sought to change our lifestyle and behavior since the beginning of the Olduvai stone technology, which was a tool used to butcher animals in the Stone Age 2.5 million years ago, until the recent digital age with the creation of digital tools including social networks. By definition, social networking is dedicated websites or applications which enable users to communicate with each other by posting information, comments, messages, images and videos (Oxford Dictionaries). Thus, social networking can take several forms including different media that a user can use this tool through, such as websites on the World Wide Web through personal computers, applications on mobile phones and tablets or sometimes televisions and several other digital devices to communicate with other individuals or even a mass audience. Although social networks have seen a rapid rise in popularity, usage rates and various improvements, this has not come without its problems, as it has caused a rise in the demand for it and made people crave this tool leading to the addiction of people on using it excessively affecting their daily basis activities and health conditions. …show more content…
