Social Issue of Abortion: Terminating Pregnancies
In the late twentieth century, the United States began to legalize abortions. In the United States there is approximately 1.2 million abortions being completed annually (“Social Problems: Continuity and Change,” 2016). In Today’s modern day to have or not to have an abortion is a very hot topic of conversation. The debate occurs when people are conversing about abortion and a clash of values and morals starts. Depending on the reason abortion was being used for it can give off different perspectives. The increase of adolescent pregnancies has led to the increase of abortions resulting in becoming a social problem in our societies. There are negative impacts to our society from terminating a pregnancy that threaten the continuation of the current society. Women have increased complications to their own bodies after having an abortion and other diagnosed illnesses that maybe would have not occurred had the fetus been delivered. Abortion is unjust and immoral because a new life is being created inside another human life and terminating is stopping what is supposed to be a wonderful process. In order to reduce the amount of abortions annually in America people need to first care about the problem and unintended pregnancy being a main cause. Why do I care to reduce the high numbers of abortion? I realize that there are solutions to assist in decreasing terminations and with the knowledgeable facts given I know we can make a difference. I believe, along with others in our society, that an effective way to prevent abortions is to strongly prevent unintended pregnancies in young and adolescent females. Every act has a consequence to go along with it, but in this case a pregnancy can go full term and other options like adoption can be highly beneficial for all involved. I will continue to be an advocate in reducing abortions for health concern matters, and overall not be judgmental towards either party of pro-choice or

All fifty states should allow this because if teens could not receive that choice, then they would have to carry an unwanted baby that they could not take care of after giving birth. During the first weeks of pregnancy the development of the fetus is a gather of cells, therefore killing cells is not killing an actual person so abortion should not be considered murder.
