It seems that throughout the novel there is an extended metaphor of Snowman as various figures from the Christian bible. The first figure that Snowman can be said to represent is that of Adam, the first man, though the similarities between the two characters do not follow the same chronology. Just as Adam is given the animals as companions to look over, similarly Crake has ensured that the Crakers and Jimmy are both left in the newly re-created world as companions.

Snowman lives in a world of isolation and hopelessness; be that as it may, the world Jimmy lived it was not similar to Snowman’s. In the song, “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, a girl is singing to her sister. A door separates them both. She continuously offeres her sister to do all these different activities. Her sister never answers though. The central idea of this song is that the narrator just wants to be with her sister. The song says, “Do you want to build a snowman. It doesn’t have to be a snowman.” The narrator, simply wants to be with her sister and not alone. It doesn’t matter what they do, because all that matters is that she’s with someone she loves. She offers all these activities like riding their bikes, or just playing around. The song also states, “They say “have courage” and I’m trying to, I’m right out here for you, just let me in.”
