I am Kaylee Sabo and I am applying to the Smithfield Alumni Association Scholarship. My grandmother, Irene Sabo, graduated from Smithfield High School in. My grandfather, Arthur Sabo also graduated from Smithfield High School in , but passed away before I was born. I think this scholarship should be awarded to me because it would help me accomplish my dreams. I also am a hard worker and with this scholarship going to me, you will know it will be put to good use. With this scholarship, I will also be able to participate in different clubs and volunteer which I would love to do.

This scholarship may only be worth $500, but every little bit will help reach my dreams. I am planning on going to the Ohio State University in the fall and major in Chemical Engineering. I have dreamed of becoming a Chemical Engineer since I was a freshman and did a report on colleges majors. I love chemistry, math, physics, and problem-solving. Chemical Engineering combines all of those things. It is my dream major and there are only six schools in Ohio that have it. I visited all of them and just fell in love with the Ohio State University campus and feel like I belong there. I have tried my best all throughout high school and have taken challenging courses such as Calculus and Physics 2. I love a challenge and figuring how to complete one. No matter what the challenge is I will try my best to complete it. In classes such as Calculus or Chemistry, if a problem in class stumps me, I will bring it home just to figure it out and prove to myself I can do it. I do this even if it is not homework. I hope going to college will give me different challenges so I can prove that I am even more hard-working individual and this scholarship will help me get there. If I receive this scholarship, you would know it went to a hard-working student and the money would be put to good
