1. Summary of “Do ‘slum tours’ profit off the poor?” This blog article is from the BBC Travel website and is called “Do “Slum tours” profit off the poor?” and was written in 2012 by Lori Robertson. In this article Lori has spooked with different people connected whit slum tourism, and because of that Lori article contains different views on slum tourism E.g. Lori has spooked whit Co- founder of Kibera Tours, Esther Bloemenkamp, how offers his travellers to see a different way of living and communities which are quite different from what they have seen before. This means that Esther has a positive attitude towards slum tourism But Lori has also spooked with Tricia Barnett, former director of Tourism Concern, how tells people to be aware of these tours and she argues that in some cases the slum tourism may be profiting off the poor because you can’t be sure where your money is going. I think it depends on two things. First off all on the rules of the travel agency’s, but also on the traveller’s traveling with the agencies. Because how are they as human beings? Do the see the fun in other people poor lives? Or do they learn something from seeing how good their own life’s is compared to other less lucky people? In other words do they travel out in the world to actually learn something new about themselves and to get a better understanding for other cultures in world? Or just get a “cheap” laugh of some people living a poor
