“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” This quote is from Sirius Black, in the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A story that also discusses the inner conflict of man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, expresses the main ideas of Sirius Black’s words in a different way. Jekyll would disagree with Sirius Black’s quote after his situation became uncontrollable; As the story progresses, Jekyll loses the ability to decide when he wants to become his evil counterpart. Dr. Jekyll can no longer change himself back and forth between Hyde and his normal form, which causes his dark side to gain more power.
