Sir gawain and the green Knight has a few rhetorical purposes within it. There are only two that stands out to me, sticking to your moral code and make it sound like a song. With those two purpose the author tried to teach the reader a lesson about the importance of a moral code, also the intent to entertain the reader with the song like sound and the action in it. Through the hole story they had used one colors, green. Green, the color of luck, which plays perfectly in this story. Gawain at the end of the story had to finish his end of the deal with the Green knight, but by being able to stay true to his moral code, he was lucky enough to stay alive.
