There is much to compare and contrast between Lord of the Flies and the film “JFK.” They both have two completely opposite settings and context behind them, but as a matter of fact, there is much that they have in common. Murder, secrets, lies and intrigue are all elements in which the two relate.
Murder is one of the key elements in both the film and the novel. To begin with, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in the JFK film, while there were multiple murders also included in the film. Too, the novel Lord of the Flies has a series of killing and murdering and other likewise events.

Their feelings overcame them and they forgot the real reason as to why they were killing the pig in the first place. The whole situation they were put in was turned into a game for them. So they lost the whole point of killing it and I think it was because they were distressed or something. For starters, they all teamed up and caught a female pig that just gave birth and not just killed it, they brutally murdered it in a way that wasn't exactly normal for what I had assumed they were capable of. Not only did they just kill that one pig, but because that pig just gave birth, the new pigs wouldn't have a food supply to live off of because the mother pig would have provided the milk for the piglets. So doing so, this cut the meat supply for the boys on the island. Of course, as young boys, this wasn't their first thought. Their thought was that they got lucky that the pig just gave birth because that would mean the pig would be a lot slower, which is in fact, an easier catch. If I were in that situation, I would've waited till the piglets grew up a little bit more to where they didn't need to rely on their mother any more, then from there I would kill the mother pig and wait for the babies to reproduce new piglets before killing them. They didn't just kill the pig, but they had also tore it to pieces and took it way out of hand, it is assumed that they have raped the pig and put the head of the pig on stick. This was a very grousing part of the story to read because right then, they weren't just hunters, they were psycho murderers. All in all with that situation, I believe that the boys could have handled it another
In his novel Lord of the Flies, William Golding describes Jack as someone who promotes unity, someone who is skilled at manipulating people, and someone who idolizes violent actions. Jack has a lot in common with the World War II German dictator, Adolf Hitler, who had also demonstrated desires for unity, the manipulation of others and increased violence. All these similarities between them led to them destroying their society.
Through tragedy, two all male societies are established as they fight for survival, in similar circumstances. The situations the groups now find themselves in are less favourable and require them to work together. Cooperating with each other is key to their survival, as well as gathering and rationing resources. One group of men is trapped in a mine where their only resources come from a small emergency centre underground. This takes place in a movie called The 33 directed by Patricia Riggen. The other story is about several young boys stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash that has left them with no adults. It is a popular novel called Lord of the Flies written by William Golding. In both the Lord of The Flies and The 33, we see
The context behind the author of Lord of the Flies is significant to the meaning of the novel, it shapes the decisions behind what occurs in the text, Willian Goudlings’s participation in World War One, conflicted his feelings towards human kind and their destructive and evil notions.
Many works of literature inspire new works to be made every day. From things as old as beowulf to the many shakespeare plays, current day writers keep pulling ideas from the classics to create their own stories. Because of this, many older works of literature are still relevant today. The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding is more current than ever with allusion from Popular television shows, music that is heard on the radio and the newest blockbuster movie. The many allusions in modern day literature and works of art to lord of the flies are too numerous to count.
There are few similarities between the book and the movie. Usually most movies are similar to
...n conclusion, both novels represent the true nature of human kind, with no barriers. The Maze Runner, almost being the modernized version of Lord of the Flies, shows how although there aren't adults in their society, left along humans can flourish and keep a structured society. Lord of the Flies however, deals with a more dark view on human nature, and brings about all of the savage impulses that reside within all humans. The leaders in both novels conduct themselves quite differently, yet it shows that all leaders don't have to be the same in order to "get the job done". Finally, both novels represent innocence in some of their characters. This shows that although everything else may fall apart, some people's true reason in life is to bring about strength and innocence in others. The novels resembled each other, yet still compared and contrasted quite well.
There are many similarities presented to the audience between the movie and the novel. One
When placed on a deserted island, a group of strangers banded together to try to survive. They decided on a leader, problem-solved, fought off a beast, and formed their own society, even if it was somewhat flawed. This was the situation in the famous TV show, Lost. The Lord of the Flies and Lost are similar in these many different ways, with the exception that the show featured a tribe of adults instead of children. That just proves how difficult it is to maintain order in a society; even the adults struggled with keeping it peaceful and civilized. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding presents a broken society of savage boys fighting one another to suggest that man’s capacity for evil is brought out by the need for power and control.

One of the most important themes running through the whole story in Lord of the Flies by William Golding is the power of different symbols. Golding frequently uses symbolism, which is the practice of using symbols especially by investing things with a symbolic meaning. The main point of each symbol is its use and its effect on each of the characters. They help shape who the characters are and what they will be. The symbols weave their way throughout the story and are more powerful than they first seem. Two boys from similar upbringings can both be so drastically different when put in difficult situations and given things to make them wield power among others. Spitz says, “But his desire for many controls did not, of course, extend to controls
Another similarity in the book and movie is that the characters have to go against their morals in order to decide what to do in certain situations. An example of this in the book is when Skip realises he would have to trespass and steal in order for him to keep himself and his friends alive. Or in...
Piggy had an appetite to be needed and accepted as a person in the boys' society. Jack had to kill a pig; he saw no other way.
In Fahrenheit 451 and Lord of the Flies, the characters are alike in some ways. In Fahrenheit 451 the characters are Montag, Faber, Clarisse, and Beatty. In Lord of the Flies the characters are Ralph, Piggy, Simon and Jack. Jack and Beatty, Ralph and Montag, Simon and Clarisse, and Piggy and Faber all have some similarities. Jack and beatty both want to take control over everyone and sells fear. Ralph and Montag want to move on and find a better plan to make everything work. Simon and Clarisse are Christ-figures. Piggy and Faber are very intellectual and are wise men. The books may contain different story lines but have very similar types of characters.
The Lord of the Flies takes place on a island in the middle of the ocean. Since there are no adults too watch over the kids they get caught up in the freedom and make very bad immature decisions. Eventually they become fully savage and stop attempting to be rescued. "The Lottery" takes place in a small, old fashioned town. Since they are mentally separate from the rest of the world they do not realize what they should and should not be doing. But that is not the last of the differences between these two
Another similarity between the two novels is that the parallels between the protagonists and the antagonists are quite similar. Both the novels have a character who willingly gives into his heart of darkness, and a character who sees the savagery of those who are consumed and fights to return to civilization. For example, in the Heart of Darkness Kurtz gave into his heart of darkness and let his evil tendencies take over. He was a one point a man who values morals but gave into his evil side when removed from civilization. Marlow on the other hand also journeys away from civilization but he does not let his values deteriorate such as Kurtz. In Lord of the Flies Jack gave into his evil side and becomes savage like, and begins turning against the ones who were his friends. Ralph on the other hand was not as easily consumed by his evil side. Until his death, Ralph realized the savagery of the others especially Jack.
