Sick of poverty article review
One of the articles by David Driver is that which is entitled sick of poverty. From this article, it is evident that poverty is one of the stressors to human beings, and is classified under the psychosocial stressors. When one is poor, he or she will end up being stressed to the extent that such person may not be able to alleviate him or herself from the condition. For instance, it is indicated in the article that a poor person may not be able to afford some of the stress-relieving options such as engaging in costly but relaxing hobbies such as playing golf, or even enrolling in health club membership; most of which are associated with high costs.
However, it should be noted that, the state of being poor is subjective depending on one’s location. For instance, it is clear from the article that one may be classified to be poor in the United States and yet he or she has more financial resources that can enable such person to purchase health care along …show more content…

To support this assertion, it is indicated in the article that the only way to be made to feel that you are poor is to be made aware of those things that people have which you do not have. To this effect, more emphasis has been put on health; a factor that is closely associated to income inequalities. Conversely, it should be noted that a poor person tends to have more stress than a rich one especially when it comes to matters meeting the basic needs such as food and clothing. The effect of stress is that it will affect the various body organs such as the brain whereby the victim will tend to have increased alertness, and impaired memory to the extreme. Apart from the brain, the victim may also have some malfunctions on the reproductive system such that such organs may be suppressed. It can, therefore, be concluded that poverty has a negative effect to the overall well-being of the victim in
