I strongly believe that the Endangered Species Act should be strengthened, since the Endangered Species Act was passed in 1973 only 3 percent of species protected by the law have recovered to where they are no longer threatened or endangered. There is a lot the Endangered Species Act can do to make their organization better. The Endangered Species Act was established in 1973 and it aimed to protect and recover impaired species and the ecosystems they depend on Major milestones in the history of The Endangered Species Act include the recovery of the bald eagle, the gray wolf and the American alligator, the Endangered Species Act has been good at protecting these species showcasing its Effectiveness. However, some people have pointed out that …show more content…
One of the weaknesses of the Endangered Species Act is its limited capabilities due to enforcement of the current work lacks measures to make sure that industries and individuals involved are working to protect endangered species. Some people may also get confused about what exactly the term “critical habitat” may be defined as considering some people may argue that certain parts of land should be set off for animals and we should get to use the rest, however others may think that all land should belong to animals or endangered species. It is believed that the Endangered Species Act creates more of a burden on landowners and industries ignoring potential development and economic growth although this is a concern the purpose of doing this is to ensure that the endangered species are protected so even if it is a slight burden it's for a greater cause One idea to strengthen the Endangered Species Act could be changing the penalties for violating the …show more content…
It's crucial to acknowledge that. This may strain the government budget and remove funds from other important programs. Yet, the long-term economic and ecological benefits of the Endangered Species Act must be considered as the top priority for the conservation of species and their habitats. Raising public awareness about the importance of the Endangered Species Act is crucial because it empowers people to understand the important role that legislation plays in continuing our planet's biodiversity. educational people that inform the public about endangered species can inspire communities to take part in conservation efforts, thereby fostering a sense of environmental importance for future generations. however, people argue that public awareness campaigns may oversimplify the complex issues. despite these objections, it's important to underscore the valuable benefits of informed public participation and preserving our world. Partnerships between conservation organizations and government agencies play a big role in the preservation of endangered
December 2017 The Endangered Species Act Problems and Solutions The Endangered Species Act protects many endangered species within our world today. This act has been successful with a number of species being saved, or they’re survival has been prolonged. Even though there is success with this act there are still some issues present. There are many species unprotected from this act, and there are still places who don’t entirely follow this act up to the standards they should. But the overlying
Humans are destructive. Not a lot of us think about how what we do affects the world around us. We almost act like we are the only ones on this planet. We go around polluting and destroying our world with no regard for our actions. The things that live out in the wild are paying the price for it. Every day that passes there is another animal or plant that is placed on an endangered list. This is happening at an alarming rate. Because of man’s desire to expand and conquer their surroundings, there
The Endangered Species Act Introduction: Long-term survival of a species depends on its ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions (Murphy, 1994). Genetic diversity within a species, which has taken 3.5 billion years to evolve, makes adaptations to these changing environments possible. Unfortunately, the rate of extinction of genetically diverse organisms is rapidly increasing, thus reducing this needed biodiversity, largely due to the human impacts of development and expansion.
pygmaeus scientifically, has been classified as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List. “They are restricted to one area from Isla Escudo de Veraguas in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro, Panama” (“Pygmy three-toed sloth (Bradypus pygmaeus)” (a)). The island is very small measuring to about 5 square kilometers in area. These sloths are usually found in red mangroves at sea level. As of now the Pygmy three-toed-sloth are critically endangered and weak law enforcement, deforestation, and poachers are
the 21st century are beneficial in so many ways. Not only do they provide a safe habitat for mainly rescued animals, but they breed endangered animals for release into the wild. Some species are having much difficulty breeding because their lack of suitable habitats from the destruction of mankind. Every year, numerous animals go extinct. If we had these species in a breeding program in a zoo or sanctuary, we may not have lost them forever. The histories of zoos have not always been the best

According to a documentary called “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price” by Robert Greenwald, the company acts unjust in all aspects. The retail empire is known for being against unions and was sued for sex discrimination several times. Annual income of a Wal-Mart employee is $14.000, lower from the U.S. poverty line. When a Wal-Mart store opens in a town
when they really can. People can pick up trash, not litter, re-use products, recycle, walk to places, take the bus or subway, or ride a bike. The earth also needs the government and big business’ help when it comes to earth quakes, oil spills, endangered species, etc. These problems require the actions of big groups and the government. Doing service to your environment will really make a difference. Taking action in your community can make a difference in the future. You can help save the environment
