Parents also argue that they do not vaccinate their children because of the harmful side effects that their child could endure. Not only are the ingredients contained in a vaccine often questionable but the amount that the child is receiving at his or her doctor’s visit is often asked by parents. The effects from vaccines on both mental and physical health is often debated. Some parents claim that a reason why they do not vaccinate is because vaccines contain live versions of the disease. Additionally, some vaccines contain ingredients that might be harmful if injected into the human body. These same parents might also argue that vaccinations are loaded with chemicals and other poisons which are unnatural to themselves and their children. An adjuvant is used as a catalyst to a vaccine which boosts the immune system in response to the vaccination. Large amounts of Aluminum is known to cause bone disorders and it’s been suggested that aluminum accumulation in the brain tissue is connected to the Alzheimer’s disease (Miler 146). Bovine cow serum is extracted from cow skin. When this ingredient is injected it can cause connective tissue disorders, arthritis, and low blood pressure. The egg protein is used for the preparation of the vaccine. It’s said that the egg protein could contain growth hormones and salmonella bacteria. Human albumin is the protein of the blood. When this is injected into the human body, it is possible to have a loss of body cell mass, and the injection could possibly contain the AIDs virus or hepatitis B (Offit, 2). The ingredients listed above are what most people would consider to be harmful to their child and this is why most parents would choose not to vaccinate their children. However, in moderation and with FDA regulations vaccinations are relatively healthy and can keep parents, their children, and the rest of the population
