For thousands of years until today, the best way to officially be the partner of someone is through marriage. People have practiced marriage for thousands of years. Many cultures see marriage as the best method to celebrate the love of a couple until death tears them apart. “Marriage establishes and maintains family, creates and sustains the ties of kinship, and is the basis of community” (Rowe 2). Marriage is a concept bigger than ones happiness and it is the basic for creating a peaceful home for the family. “This sense of home requires the dynamic participation of both women and men--the women to mother and the men to father--to fulfill the daily roles of teaching, nurturing and protecting children” (Rowe 2). Your parents’ have an obligation to take care for you, so that when you grow up you are able to become a person who is strong enough to support yourself. But there are different opinions whether child raisin should be shared equally between parents. A group of people think that is essential for a child to grow up with the love and care of both parents. Some people’s opinion is that child rising should be shared in a way that suits the family. While single parents argue that even without one parent they can give their children the needed love and care.
The first point of view about whether parents should assume equal responsibilities when raising a child is that a child should be raised with all the needed care and love from both parents. Women nowadays are becoming mothers at an early age and often have to the raise the child on their own. Due to this hardship, they must improvise when it comes to adjusting to the change of now raising a child and their parenting skills. They must manage their personal goals while trying to provide a stable structure for their child. Many times they fall short due to their lack of resources and stress. Regardless of their romantic relationship status, it often falls on the mother to raise the child. Even though it is important for both parents to be present in a child’s life, if a parent is participating in deviant behavior, then sometimes it is best for the child to be raised by one parent.
Since the beginning of time, fathers have had a profound effect on their child’s development. Marriage is termed as a legitimate commitment or social establishment which unites two people mutually as husband and wife. The agreement ascertains privileges and responsibilities amid spouses, spouses and children and spouses and in-laws. Marriage is deemed to be a momentous union in every society. It is significant in terms of providing security, emotional support and fulfilling economic, social, cultural and physical needs. These needs are the natural cravings of young adults that drive them towards matrimony. It is a foundation that is based on personal responsibilities which form the backbone of civilizations.
Children are the future of the world and need to be nurtured and educated in the best conditions. Thus, parenting is one of the most challenging and admirable responsibilities that people can experience. Parenting plays important roles in the development of children’s characteristics. Some people nurture children depending on their own ways. Others get advice from friends or books. Parenting can be divided into three groups: authoritative, permissive, and democratic parenting.
Parents need to take responsibility for their child’s action. Parents need to stop caring what others are going to think if their child needs mental health care. They cannot put the blame and responsibility on the mental healthcare professionals. They should not expect it, to be up to the mental healthcare system to discipline their children.
