A Tapestry Appears

This a tale of an ancient tapestry and a young boy who was a victim of its curse.

He had been fine until that day. He had had many things. Toys, nice clothes, good meals, education. Almost anything you could name. The only thing he didn’t have was someone who cared about him. He felt like there was this deep inner hatred and greediness inside everyone here. He chose not to care, he prefered being alone anyway. He lived on like that, until he had an encounter that changed everything.

That day was completely normal just like any other. Well, maybe it was a bit special. It was his birthday. No one really cared but that was fine. He didn’t dare ask for more than he already had. He didn’t want someone to come and chat with

There was a new tapestry. It was stunning but it gave off a feeling of danger. No one had told him to be careful or stay clear of dangerous things. No one had ever given the tiniest bit of praise or even a ‘Thank You’ much less giving him advice and support. Unable to hold his curiosity, he gently put his books on the floor and started to examine

His lessons were cancelled and he did not get any proper care anymore. Sadly, that was only the beginning. Eventually, they started to lock him in his room and starve him enough to make him cry which produced those magnificent gems again. They didn’t let him live like a decent person unless he gave gems to them each day until they were satisfied! Their greediness didn’t stop there though. One day, they took him and started torturing him until he started crying even more and continued the steady supply of gems. Still, they grew greedier and greedier and the way he got treated got worse and worse until finally, he
