El Chapo
Born as Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, Mr. Guzman soon became known as the infamous “El Chapo Guzmán” due to his height of five feet and six inches. With very little information regarding a birth date, he was questionably born on December 25th 1954, or April 4th 1957. Joaquín was born into a poor family located in a rural community known as La tuna de Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico. However, many generations of his family lived and died in La Tuna. It is recognized that his father was a cattle rancher, but some sources argue that he may have also been a gomero, which is a Sinaloan word for an opium poppy farmer.

Hernan Cortes was born at Medellin in Spain in the year 1485 and eventually became one of the great Governors of Mexico City. It all started in 1518 when the Governor of Cuba (Diego Velazquez) placed him in charge of an expedition to explore Mexico for colonization. In February, 1519, Cortes was about to set sail when Velazquez changed his mind at tried to replace him; however Cortes in an act of mutiny pushed forward anyway. In March of 1519, Cortes claimed the land for the Spanish Crown (Charles V). Because of this great victory and the gold that Cortes sent back to Spain, he was named Governor and Captain General of Mexico in 1523.

Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Loera was born on April 4, 1957 in Sinaloa, Mexico. He was born into a poor family in a rural community. His parents are Emilio Guzman Bustillos and Maria Consuelo Loera Perez. For numerous generations, his family’s legacy lived and died in La Tuna, Sinaloa. Although a number of myths about his father being an opium farmer have not been proven, he was actually a cattle rancher. Guzman has two younger sisters and four younger brothers. As a child, Guzman had a responsibility of selling oranges. In fact, he dropped out of school in the third grade to work for his father. Although his father physically abused him and treated him brutal, he stood up to his father when it came to his younger siblings for their own protection.
Ernesto Miranda was a spanish lower class citizen born and raised in Arizona. As a child Miranda had problems in grade school, a little while after Miranda’s mother died. After his mother died Miranda lost connections with the rest of his family. His criminal record began during his 8th grade year. During the next year, he was arrested and convicted of burglary and was sentenced to be sent to a reform school for one year. About a month from his reform school he committed a crime and was sent back to reform school. The second time he was released he relocated to Los Angeles. Not too long after Miranda arrived in Los Angeles he was arrested there. After 2 and a half years Miranda was evicted and sent back to Arizona, at about age 18. Afterward he traveled through the south for about 3 months, and ended up committing more crimes and served jail time in Ohio, Texas, and California, and Nashville. Miranda was able to stay out of jail for the next couple of years and had many different jobs before he got a stable job as a laborer for Phoenix Produce Company.
He was a businessman during the 80’s that was born in Medellin, Colombia. By the time he was 30 he would become the richest person in the world for 7 consecutive years, according to Forbes magazine. He would attain his success through the business of smuggling drugs and other merchandises, but mostly drugs which were on high demand at that time in Colombia and in the United States. As agent Murphy narrated in the show Narcos: “Its supply created its own demand”( Narcos). Meaning that Pablo did not settle he was very ambitious, and the money he received from making these deals was put into getting more product and therefore more profit.
Francisco Pizarro was a conquistador born in Trujillo, Spain in about 1471. His father, Gonzalo Pizarro, was an infantry captain and he taught Francisco how to fight at an early age. Francisco Pizarro never learned to read and write but he was full of adventure.
When he first formed the cartel. He chose marijuana because it was the cash crop of the time and then in the 1980s he switch to cocaine because that became the new cash crop. His cartels cocaine made up 80% of the United States illegal drug market and made up 90% of Europe’s illegal drug market. On June 9, 1995 was arrested by the Colombian National Police during a house raid in Cali. He was found in a hollowed-out bathroom cabinet with an oxygen tank. He was sentence to 15 years. Then in 2002 he was temporality freed because of a controversial judicial order issued by deputy judge Pedro José Suárez, who considered that the above reduction was applicable through habeas corpus. He was recaptured by Colombian authorities in Cali, in March 2003. Then on December 3, 2004 he was extradited to the United States. September 26, 2006 he took a plea bargain and was 30-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Memphis
Xavier Becerra was born on January 26, 1958 in Sacramento, California. Becerra is the child of some working-class immigrants. He grew up in a one room house along with his three sisters hat he had. He graduated from C.K McClatchy High School in 1976 which is located in Sacramento. He was basically born and raised in Sacramento, California. Xavier was the first one of all four children to graduate from college. He graduated in 1984 from Stanford University, earning his J.D from Standford's Law School, he also attended the University of Salamanca, which is located in Salamanca, Spain. Becerra worked with the Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts before returning to California. Becerra also worked for a short time as an Administrative assistant for the California State Senator Art Torres in 1986. In 1987-1990, Becerra was also a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice from 1987-1990. Ernesto Arturo Miranda was born in Mesa, Arizona on March 9, 1941. During his grade school years, Miranda began getting in trouble. His first criminal conviction was during his eighth grade year. The following year, now a 9th grade dropout, he was convicted of burglary. His sentence was a year in the reform school, Arizona State Industrial School for Boys (ASISB). After his release from the reform school, he got into trouble again with the law and was returned to ASISB. Once released for the second time, Miranda relocated to Los Angeles where a few months later he was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and sexual offenses even though he was not convicted of these crimes.
