Crime investigation has been changed over the years because of Sherlock Holmes stories. These stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle have changed how people look and examine crime scenes. Arthur Conan Doyle changed many things with his stories involving forensic techniques and criminal investigation. His stories also changed the detective work, how ciphers are figured out, and how handwriting is connected to a specific person. Conan doyle reflect his opinion in how he changed these 3 things and more through his stories.
Sherlock stories tell that detective work was and still is important. In one of the stories, Sherlock caught everyone by surprise when he revealed the criminals height, weight, and many others just by looking at a wet footprint in the little garden in the back yard. He also explained how the evidence he found led to his accurate conclusion. Conan Doyle’s stories also showed his opinion about “reason backwards” because it was often used in the stories he wrote. “Reason backwards” is looking at the criminal act and working backwards to lead him to evidence. This is a hard process to do accurately because people struggle working backwards but it can help guide to an conclusion and solves the case.
