Ester Hernandez is a Chicana artist, best known for her works of Chicana women. Ester’s goal is to recreate women’s lives to produce positive images of women’s lifestyle and to create icons. Her piece, Frida y Yo, contains the iconic painter Frida Kahlo. Frida, after being in multiple accidents causing long-term pain and suffering, began painting, mostly self-portraits, to portray her reality and glorify the pain. Similar to how Hernandez's goals are a juxtaposition to Frida’s artwork, the art piece Frida y Yo creates a juxtaposition between life and suffering and death and fortune.

Selena Quintanilla-Perez was an artist in the Tejano music industry that contributed to revolutionizing the style of music in the United States today. The Tejano music genre is originated from Texas but it may be called Tex-Mex because of its Mexican background. Selena absolutely loved her fans so she went to great lengths in order to keep her fans happy. (Angelfire 2) Her rise to stardom was also very successful thanks to the support and persistence from her father. She won a lot of awards and achieved amazing records in her musical career. The band that her family formed not only helped her find fame but it also helped her find love in a musician named Chris Perez.(Hispanic 2) Once she rose to stardom Selena was not corrupted by money. It appeared that her fame made her cherish her family a lot more and become less selfish by supporting charities. (Biography 1) The brink of her successful career was short lived due to a traumatic murder caused by the betrayal of Yolanda Saldivar. Selena Quintanilla, the madonna of Tejano music. Such an empowering person; she was beloved by many. Her tragic death caused an immense outrage and pained many. Yolanda Saldivar, her killer made a huge mistake that day. Nothing can justify her shooting Selena. Her actions were driven by hatred towards the Quintanilla family, greed, and caused an immense outbreak of mourning. Although some may say that her actions were justified because of her being fired, that is not a good enough reason to shoot someone. Here are my explanations as to why Yolanda saldivar did not have a valid reason to end Selena Quintanilla’s life.

In these websites you find thousands of married people of both genders having adventures with stranger out there. They can take a part of an object to represent the object as a whole. “Books” by Kiki Petrosino uses a unique structure, metaphors, and personification to establish her argument that books represent the fertility of woman during pregnancy.

Many different Christian-based religions have or use saints as a purpose to get people to pray more often than they would usually, or have them to be used as “communion saints”. There are over 10,000 saints, many with different backgrounds, histories, and meanings. Some of them are patron saints, which shield or protect a certain person, place, or thing. Saints can mean a lot of different things to people, with some of the most famous ones being Joan of Arc, Saint Agnes, Saint Peter, Saint Patrick, and more, But one of them, Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, is easily overlooked and stands for a greater message even through her hard times.
Melanie Klein was born in Vienna, Austria in 1882 on March 30th. She began being interested in psychoanalysis between 1910 -1919. She is said to be a pioneer of child analysis and early development. Melanie started working as a psychoanalyst around the time of World War I. In 1910 Klein and her family, which included a husband, and two children, (a daughter, and a son) moved to Budapest. In 1912 she became a member of the Hungarian Psychoanalytic Society, and started her analytic training with Sandor Fereczi. She later moved to Berlin and started working with Karl Abraham from 1924-1925. Although she spent more time with Fereczi than Abraham, her work with Abraham is considered more important to her work. It is a tradition of love, friendship, companionship, spiritual guidance and even a journey into recognition of self. An Anam Cara assisted a person in their spiritual and moral life. They acted as both a counselor and friend. The soul-friend relationship moves outward towards others. You meet someone’s soul before you meet their physical being. Souls can cross any boundary and reach far. The importance of having an Anam Cara for Celts is was great because finding “the one” indicated you were complete as a human being.
Many young women who become extremists, and join ISIS find themselves to share the similar mediocre perspective and thinking. It is no secret that ISIS is a terrorist organization of extremists Jihads that believe in the distorted views of Islam. Through social media, and other live broadcast videos, brutal and violent crimes such as, “torture, executions, and mistreatment of prisoners, hostages and civilians” are displayed, and still young women are brainwashed and attracted to join ISIS. Selena, “Le Reina de Tejano”, was born on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson. She was the youngest of three children of Abraham Quintanilla Jr. and Marcela, his wife. At a young age, Abraham had a strong passion for music that he still has. During the 1950s and 1960s, him and his friends made a group called “Los Dinos” and played at nightclubs and restaurants. Even though his passion for music, he gave it up when he got married and earned a job at Dow Chemical as a shipping clerk.
The Romanticism in Wordsworth Romantic poetry has very distinct details which set it apart from previous poetry. William Wordsworth’s poem, “I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud,” is full of the Romantic characteristics which were so different during that time. The poem begins with the speaker “floating” along, as though he or she were a cloud, when he or she spots a “crowd/ …, of golden daffodils” (Wordsworth, 3,4). The speaker goes on to describe the daffodils and the lake that is beside them.
In the movie, Confessions of a Brazilian Call Girl, a young girl named Racquel struggles to be accepted among her family and peers. It is distinctive that there is a rivalry between herself and her older brother, who happens to have a successful career, whereas Racquel is still in high school. At school, Racquel seems to be naïve, which leads to a classmate forcing himself on her. As a result, she fights back; but only to go back to her parents’ home, in which she discovers a provocative picture of herself on the internet her classmate managed to put online. Furthermore, this incident reinforced her insecurities; and lead her to seek something her parents could not give her: love and attention.
