Shakespeare's Presentation of Macbeth

In this essay I am going to discuss if Macbeth is evil. First I will

look at the evil things Macbeth has done. Then I will look if Macbeth

is really evil and then I will draw my conclusion.

First I am going to look at the evil things that Macbeth has done. The

evil things Macbeth does, showing him to be an evil character, are

when he murders Duncanand when he also murders Banquo and then

attempts to kill Banquo's son Fleance but he flees to another country.

The other evil thing he does is to murders Macduff, and his wife,

children and servants. In act 4 scene 1 Macbeth wants to kill every

member of Macduff family he can catch: "the castleof Macduff Iwill

surprise; seize upon fife; give to th'edge o'th'sword his wife, his

babes, and all unfortunate souls that trace him in his line."

The next question I have to answer is why he does these evil things it

could be because of faults in his own character "I grant him bloody,

luxurious avaricious, false, deceitful, sudden, malicious, smac...
