Recommended: Volunteer and community involvement

Goals Statement: The goal of the sexual assault service center is to increase health related services.
Another goal for the center is to reduce the amount of sexually assaulted victims by providing more preventative education throughout the community and schools.
In addition the agency wants to continue to provide current services that can help victims recover, find their power, and voice after being affected sexual assault.
Objectives:
Throughout the year of 2016-2017 the sexual assault service center
Plans to have forensic collection and rape kits available to all sexually assaulted victims and more medical intervention services.
Have a speaker talk to the community about sexual assault and ways to prevent the crime 4 different times in the year.
Also, have the speaker go to all the local high schools and colleges and speak to the students about preventative measures for sexual assault.
Continue to provide the sex hotline, crisis counseling, medical and legal advice, and prevention education to their clients.

Strategies/Activities: The sexual assault service center helps many individuals by providing services to sexual assault victims and their families. Throughout the year of 2016-2017 the center plans to …show more content…

In order to provide this service the center will find a volunteer that has experienced sexual assault and who is educated on the crime and prevention. The center will call local schools and set up speaking dates and times throughout the year so they are ready for the speaker. The center will also ask the speaker to talk to the community. In order for the speaker to talk to the community the center will call community auditoriums and theaters and see if they have any availability for the preventative education. They are unable to make their own decisions: where they can work, where they can live, and how they can live their lives are all under control of the government. These people look the same as everyone else, but underneath the mask, lay a title they cannot shake. These people are sex offenders. A sex offender is defined as anyone who has committed a sexual crime. These crimes range from serious crimes, like rape, to minor offenses, such as urinating in public, or under age consensual sex. All sex offenders are placed on the registry and are required to follow a careful protocol. Registered sex offenders are paired with a Community Corrections Officer (CCO) who oversees and supervises the offender's actions. Many restrictions are placed on the offender, and although the laws can vary from state to state, there are some basic restrictions that apply to every offender. Some of these restrictions include: a sex offender cannot move without the permission and approval of their CCO, they can only live and work in certain areas, they cannot own any firearms, their personal computers are monitored and controlled by their CCO (many websites are blocked, including pornographic content), they are not allowed to take or consume any mind altering substances such as drugs or even alcohol, and they are required to get regular counseling (“Rules”). Currently there are 747,408 registered sex offenders in the United States.
