Imagine a life with no control. A life where you are forced to perform sexual acts. And if you don't oblige, you are beaten senseless. A life where you don’t know when it's nighttime or daytime. A life where you are treated like an object. A life where you are constantly being taken advantage of. Sex trafficking victims are robbed of their rights. The right to life, the right to liberty and security, the right not to be subjected to torture and/or cruel, inhuman, degrading treatment or punishment, etc. Thousands of people are in sex trafficking in the U.S alone.

How would it feel to get raped 20 times a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year? Well that’s exactly what Karla had to go through. One day in Mexico City, a man 10 years older than her confronted her. He introduced himself and tried his best to make Karla feel safe. As their relationship grew, Karla ran off with him. She was only 12. Karla didn’t know what she was getting herself into. She thought she was in love. After about 3 months of living with him, Karla was getting suspicious as to why there was always girls in the house. Karla was in this situation for 4 years. She estimates that she was raped over 42,000 times. She was finally rescued when she was 16. Karla was scarred for life.
