How does drinking an energy drink affect the heart rate of a person? If one drinks a Full Throttle, that person’s heart rate will rise.The idea of this science fair project is if someone drinks an energy drink then that person’s heart rate will rise and could have either a positive or negative effect on the human heart.This project is interesting to me because I consume energy drinks and I want to find out how they effect my heart rate.
Energy drinks are supposed to help with the alertness and the overall energy of a person. Now, the science behind it and the research will prove if that is true or not. The reason for doing this was because of how the drink affected each person differently. If this project were to be repeated, there would be some things done differently. The first thing that would need to be done differently would be that the test subjects should only drink water before the test. Some of the test subjects had drank other caffeinated drinks before the test and that skewed the results. Also, there would be more time between after the drink is finished and when the heart rate is checked again. And lastly, another thing about the experiment that should be changed is the amount of people that the test was done on. The test needed more people for the results to be more accurate.
If one drinks a Full Throttle, then that person's heart rate will rise. That is what the hypothesis was. The data that is presented does support the hypothesis. As a group the average heart rate rose 10%. The reasoning behind this is like what was stated above. The caffeine started the fight or flight response giving the body more energy. This results in the heart rate of a person
