If i can have thousands of people cheering my name, if I could have my whole country on my back and make a name for myself, then one person I would want to be is Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Not only is he a bright, young, and strong boxer, he is an elite fighter that has courage and guts to do what people think is impossible. “Canelo” Alvarez is young prospect rumored to be the next king of the world. If I can represent Mexico in a good way then I would want it to be in the name of “The Pound for Pound Champion of the World.” Saul is strong and smart when it comes to fighting, he’s young and has so many people that look up to him, and best of all, he has so many years of fortune to make his life even greater.
I don’t condone fighting, but boxing is sport that can be a fun and adrenaline rushing. Canelo is an amazing fighter and is speculated to be the next and maybe the last greatest upcoming star that boxing has left. If you want to become a boxer, a strong one, that knows his way around his opponent, then why not pick the young talent that already has a future ahead of him? Saul has a great team and is represented by Golden Boy, another boxing legend. He has a team that helps him formulate a plan of attack, and that plan is attack. He’s smart and brutal, he’s rated as one of the best pound for pound fighters and look at his age! However, he was outgunned by boxing's, questionably, best fighter, Mayweather Jr. In Canelo’s case, he did receive respect from many but also lost credibility. He didn't show up to this match and really showed his weak spot. In retrospect, his 'rebellious' actions and persistent attitude could have been very harmful and he possibly could have got in a lot of trouble. Although the biggest drug lord has been captured, the crime and violence left behind cannot be forgotten.
Born in 1956 in Mexico City, Juan Villoro is the author of many well known books such as “El Testigo” which was recognized and was honored with the Herralde Prize, and other books like “La Casa Pierde” and “Efectos Personales”. Juan Villoro stands out with his style of writing using impressive array of topics with insight, dark humor, irony, and the social and cultural functions of spectator sports like boxing and soccer. With his interest in sports, he enjoys writing about the deep passion that is represented in the sport, with his story “Lightweight Champ”, a short story about a professional Mexican boxer and his journalist/drug addicted childhood friend who came from poverty in the early years in Mexico. Juan becomes very interested in investigating why what happens in sports, giving people interest in what their reading, making them think about lets loose superstitions, systems of belief, hopes, disappointments and so on. The story “Lightweight Champ” talks about how guilt was the motivation to Ignacio Barrientos’s success in his career as a professional boxer, yet no one knew his past, that gave me that stride and edge in the ring other than a few people, including the speaker of the story. Guilt is a feeling where can last a moment or a lifetime, leaving an unphysical effect on yourself, and finding a way to deal with it, so it does not eat us up inside.

This quote was said by the one and only Oscar De La Hoya, the man who I chose to write about. Oscar was born in Los Angeles, CA on February 4, 1973. His nationality is American from a Mexican origin and comes from a boxing family. His nickname was “The Golden Boy”. I chose Oscar De La Hoya, because he is the greatest boxer known to man.
Cesar Estrada Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 on a farm near Yuma, Arizona. His family was originally from Northern Mexico (Chihuahua). His parents Librado and Juana Chavez raised their kids in Arizona's Gila valley. Cesar's father worked in his ranch and also owned his own store and pool hall. His father wasn't around a lot because of work so his mother Juana had a lot of influence on him. His mother taught him to be a non-violent person. She told him to turn the other cheek. Also she was a really religious person, a good Christian that also taught him to always help out poor people. In 1929 while the Great Depression Cesar's family lost the ranch. The family traveled to Oxnard, California wear they struggled to put a roof over their head and food on the table. So they moved from town to town in search for work. In 1944 Cesar joined the U.S Navy as a deckhand on a troop transport for 2 years. He joined so he would avoid getting drafted and being forced to fight in real gun fire. After he finished he moved to Delano, California. Their, one day in a theater he sat in an only white section. He didn't move so the police to him to jail and then later they released him because he didn't brake any laws. While he worked in a malt shop called "La Baratita" he entered a grocery wear he met his future wife Helen Fabela.

He was the first boxer to win the Heavyweight Championship 3 different times. He had a great personality and was liked by the people. During his life, he made big decisions that changed the course of his life completely. Muhammad Ali's journey through life was a great inspiration for African American people, but Ali himself deserves the admiration of everyone.
I would often imagine me wearing a brand new classy suit and going to work every day. I would have my very own office where I would work peacefully without any disturbance and a have a view of the entire city from my office balcony which would be in a very tall building.
