Satellite Radio
When I drive my car around town running errands and going from place to place, it’s nice to listen to the radio. Now since this distance I am traveling seems to be within a 30-40 mile radius, flipping through the stations is not much of a problem for me. Now on the other hand, I do travel out of town frequently, and I hate it when I want to listen to the radio and there is no signal. The reason why none of us can is because radio signals don’t carry much farther than the town’s radius. Trying to find a station in the static is very annoying. Most of the time (especially in Iowa it seems) there are no stations for miles. Now who would honestly like to travel like that? Not me that is for sure. There is an alternative though. It’s not very expensive to get either. Satellite radio is the key to traveling without boredom. Satellite radio’s signals are cast from over 22,000 miles away from the earth’s surface. There is no static interference either!
From personal experience, I have sold these radios for a company. I don’t want to persuade anyone either way towards one brand or the other. AS I have researched though, there are subtle differences in each provider. For instance, if price is an issue, there are plenty of options that are affordable. The bills are monthly for the two that I have looked into, but depending on the different perks, the price can really make all the difference.
“Radio to the Power of X”, is the slogan used for XM satellite radio. There is no contract requirement any longer to listen to premium quality music, with few to zero commercials. It’s only 9.99$ per month for any service plan.
Here are a few perks for XM radio;
• 68 commercial free music channels.
• 33 channels of sports, news, talk & entertainment
• 21 channels with instant traffic and weather
• Delphi Unit-portable or fixed in a car.
• Receiver lists the artist and song.
• 2 satellites orbiting the earth
• Only 9.95$ per month
These are just a few of the perks that XM has to offer. XM has teamed up with pioneer, Jensen, and audiovox to create the car decks that are “XM ready” so the price of the equipment can be very affordable.
The Delphi unit is a little more expensive, but depending on when you want to listen to radio, whether it is at home or in the office, this unit is a prime choice.
...trick to profit. Clear Channel has taken major college stations to bed, and it’s not a gentle lover. Thus, local stations must not be lured by Clear Chanel’s diabolical plan. Instead, the stations must look the corporate villain into their deceiving eyes, and inform them that their conglomerating ways will not be tolerated; we must preserve the last refuge of music programming and expression on the radio airwaves.
September 11th, 2001 is one of the worst days in the United States of America’s history by far. It all began at 8:45am when a stolen airplane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Many people believed that this was...
The improvements in radio will most likely attract people who are irritated by the difficulty of finding a station that suits their interests. It may take a while for this new product to become popular, but with the information that I have researched it is likely that it will catch on in the near future. Also, if this does catch on, then the number of people who listen to the radio instead of watching television should increase as the years go on. Some people think that XM Radio could take over FM and AM radio because of its overall superiority to them. Whether or not this happens, it is definitely a step forward in creating more luxuries for those who feel the need to be entertained.

In the article “Terrorized by War on Terror” by Zbigniew Brzezinski, is about the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. They hijacked four airplanes in mid-flight. The terrorists flew two of the planes into two the World Trade Center in New York City. The crash caused the buildings to catch fire and collapse causing the whole city to fill up with smoke and ash. Another plane destroyed part of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane cr...

The key elements of an affiliate expansion plan will be 1) establishing a methodology to identify attractive countries in which to operate; 2) developing and implementing practical individual and corporate fundraising strategies; and 3) creating strategies to engage governments. The plan will also take into consideration the cost and benefits of implementing suggested approaches.
The article that appeared in Fortune entitled “Radio’s Stern Challenge” by John Helyar discusses Sirius’ marketing strategy to not only take market share from the entrenched and free terrestrial radio industry but also to beat its only competitor, XM. The Fortune article presents how a fat and lazy radio industry has failed to react to an eroding listening base and an increasing number of competing technologies. Issues like lack of attention to programming, no on-air talent, and an increase of 166% in the time devoted to commercials have driven listeners away from radio. Teens aged 12-17 spend 11% less time listening to radio compared to five years ago and adults 18-24 spend 13% less time compared to five years ago (Helyar, 2004). The article further discusses that terrestrial radio has much to fear from competing technologies like satellite radio, streaming digital radio on the Internet, and Apple’s iPod. What terrestrial radio does have in its favor is that it’s free compared to any of the current competing technologies like satellite radio.
These target groups spend an extraordinary amount of time listening to radio, especially in the car, and should be extremely receptive to the XM product due to their constant need for radio entertainment and willingness to pay for it.
The radio grew in popularity and was as successful as it was because it was able to reach all across the nation, helped the American people interpret the Great Depression, and was a universal place of communication and entertainment. Although the first radio-wave theorem was developed in 1864 by James Clerk Maxwell, it was not until the 1920s and 1930s that the device really gained popularity in the U.S. During the Great Depression, families, advertisers, and even politicians used the radio for purposes such as entertainment, news, and a forum to the American people.1
So, what is your role in the game? Well, if you are ready to feel a little bit like Indiana Jones, only a little nerdier and less adventurous, you should go on Apple's website and download the app, because it is definitely something you would enjoy! You will help to save the words in the dictionary of English language, one of the books that suffered damage during the fire. Thus, your task ...
In the scene in Act Three when Davies is offered with another pair of shoes, the interaction between Aston and him is quite different. This time he does not care to compliment the shoes. Instead he just complains that they do not fit but reluctantly he agrees to wear them until he receives a pair that will. After that he asks for laces and he hears that Aston only got the shoes for him. As a result, he exclaims that the shoes are not good at all without laces, so Aston brings him laces but of a different colour than the shoes. Yet again, Davies is not pleased about it although he finally accepts the shoes saying that “Well, they can do, anyway, until I get another pair”. In this scene, Davies indicates that Aston should try to get him another shoes. He does not acknowledge Aston’s efforts. Rather he uses Aston even though Aston is the man who gave him a place to live and a chance for a better future.
In the early days of ecommerce, businesses set up your site, bought a domain name, placed banner ads and hoped for the best: press coverage, word of mouth, banner ad click-throughs and eventually a closed sale. Life got more complicated quickly as banner ads proliferated and people managed to ignore them with increasing skill. Internet marketers thus had to become more savvy, and the affiliate model was introduced. The model: get other sites to reference your site and increase traffic and sales with “a little help from your friends.” This concept of having others reference you (and sometimes setting up a joint-referencing model back at your partner) is the premise of affiliate marketing.
