Satan Satan worship in being practiced more now throughout the world today than ever before. Satan is involved in today’s world, with temptations. People today openly worship the devil, or Satan. People who do this preform sacrifices, witchcraft, séances, and things such as that (DeHann 9). The origin of Satan is described in the Bible. The devil was originally created by God, as an angle. The devil was said to be the most beautiful beings. He also had favor with God. This is described in Ezekiel 28: 12-15 (KJV). Lucifer was Satan’s original name while he was in heaven. The name Lucifer means “the morning star”. The morning star appears before the dawn in heaven. Lucifer was the angel of light (DeHann 11). Satan, while he was in heaven, rebelled against God, bringing sin into existence. Although the Bible does not tell us why sin entered existence, Deuteronomy 29:29 says “secret things which belong unto the lord our God” (KJV). Witchcraft was used back in biblical times as well as it is today, in Bible times witches were like sorcerers that used magic to connect with the unseen world. The person who used magic or sorcery to try and talk with the dead were called “necromancers”. Another type is sign reading or telling the future. Looking at the entrails of different animals or looking at astronomical signs was considered to be wicked in the eyes of people back then. The Bible speaks these things in Deuteronomy 18: 10-12 (KJV). A witch in today’s medieval times was said to have traded her soul to the devil in order to have magic powers. Over time the world and society have both changed tremendously and one thing that has changed with that is the idea of Witchcraft. Witchcraft has never been prosperous but has been around ever since society has had any written records of time. Different societies and areas all experienced Witchcraft and were driven by the same motives like naivety and fear. Society has a very different view on witchcraft from 35,000 BC compared to present present day because things change over time. In Hebrews, Exodus 22:18, one reads, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” (The Salem Witch Trials: A Reference Guide) This basically translates to, “any women practicing dark arts or unnatural powers should be put to death.” Again in the bible, witchcrafts is mentioned “when the prophet Samuel admonishes King Saul of the Israelites, for seeking aid of the Witch of Endor” (The Salem Witch Trials: A Reference Guide). Witchcraft has always fascinated many people and been a very controversial topic in North America during the seventeenth and 17th centuries. Many people believe that witchcraft implies the ability to injure or use supernatural power to harm others. People believed that a witch represented the dark side of female presence and were more likely to embrace witchcraft than men. There are still real witches among us in the Utah who believe that witchcraft is the oldest religion dealing with the occult. However, the popular conception of a witch has not changed at least since the seventeenth century; they still caused panic, fear and a variety of other emotions in people.

Satan is an allegorical representation of God the Father. Both Satan and God are seen as Father figures; God as the Father of all that is virtuous, and Satan as the Father of all that is wicked. Probably an evil haggish-like women who has signed a pact with the devil if we think of it in the English sense. For many centuries to the present day, Christians have lived in fear of witches. They were known as to be the devils child who only practiced black magic and thought of as the Christians “persecution”. Witches have been known to mankind since the 1200’s. Throughout the 1400’s, the examination of witches was more focus and moved from the Jews. In the church’s law, it was stated that the belief of existence and practices of witchcraft was “heresy”. Because of what the Christians believed, churches would then torture and hunt down anyone who they thought were witches and killed the many women and only a few of the men. They even made them make the confession of flying through the midnight sky, being in love with the devil himself, practicing black magic and even turning into animals.
Typically, when someone thinks of religion, they think about worship of a higher power, compassion for all living things, and a general love of the world. Satanism, while a religion, does not fit these conventions. The faith holds no belief in a higher power, is rather selfish in nature, and paints a bleak picture of the world and its workings. In addition, Satanism has controversy riddled history dating back to the seventeenth century. Due to the religion’s unconventional nature, it is often looked down upon and its principles and values are ridiculed. To better understand a faith like Satanism, it helps to look at it alongside a more familiar and commonly understood religion like Christianity.

His longing to be like God is quickly recognized and dealt with. God banishes him from Heaven and sends him to Hell. That 's the last we see of him until he talks with God about his faithful servant Job. In each interaction we see Satan in, we get only a glimpse of who he really is.
