Basketball lies in the midst of many other sports offered to teenagers in today’s world. Even with so many options available, basketball is the sport that Sam Logwood’s heart chose. Logwood moved from Texas to Indiana with his father around his eighth-grade year when he began playing basketball competitively. He quickly realized that he loved the game. From that time forward, he would work to make the most of it, in any way possible.

High school was where the hard work, dedication, and passion grew. Logwood was able to transfer to a Top 5 Prep School, La Lumiere School, in his junior year where he reached a high caliber of athleticism. His passion, talent, and hard work stood out to colleges around the country, ranking him among the Top 150 prospects in the nation for the 2014 recruiting class. Basketball has made a much more powerful impact on his life and his future. This sport was never just a sport to him, it helped him become the leader, teammate, student, friend, and Lobo that he is today. Logwood’s childhood was no piece of cake. There were trials to overcome and battles to face. Unfortunately, Logwood lived a significant part of life without a father figure to guide him. The lack of guidance led him into trouble and that trouble was guiding him down a path no one truly hopes to go down. Eventually, he realized that he had an opportunity to change his future and he found the strength to do so. That strength came from his father, God, and basketball. Basketball helped change Sam’s life in more ways than just recognition, fame, and popularity. When he found the passion for basketball, he found the motivation to alter what his future had in store for him.
