It is important to have a safe and hygienic work practices for both carer and the client. And when dealing with clients it is necessary to wash hands after being in contact with every client this shows good hand hygiene. This will prevent the spread of diseases such as MRSA. Social impact – Caregivers should promote interaction and involvement. Some clients will not want to socialise but would want to be alone, that’s acceptable. But for the clients that can or would socialise it is important to promote it. Activities should be planned due to the clients’ ability and interest. For example playing bingo, playing cards, watching, they will organise people to come and play music.
4. Psychological impact –To meet the client psychological needs, behavioural needs have to be met as well. Due to the clients illness they can be distressed, agitated and restless, this can be difficult for the caregivers and the family. Caregiver and nurse should be aware of the client’s psychological needs and should know how to meet them. The client may not know when they’re being aggressive or when they’re behaviour gets out of hand, careers should be calm at all times and make sure the client is calm as well.

Firstly, it will look at compliance rates for HCWs in the intensive care units (ICU) and then explore the different factors that contribute to low hand hygiene compliance. HAIs represent a major source of morbidity and mortality, especially for patients in the ICU (Hugonnet, Perneger, & Pittet, 2002). They are a person with thoughts, words, deeds, and a need for care. To truly embody what a client is one needs to combine definitions. A client is a person seeking professional and protective medical care with a need for concern, understanding, and top quality of care. Health and illness are two sides of a coin. Some may view health as the absence of illness and alternatively, illness as the lack of good health. However, each goes beyond being the simple opposite of the other. Health is not just the absence of illness but the embodiment of well-being, comfort, and wellness of body, mind and spirit. Illness can be as simple as a cold, a bodily injury, and on to a disease of the mind. Both health and illness can be simply defined but to truly understand what it is to be healthy and to be ill one must look beyond the simple and see all the aspects of each.
Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder which kills the brain cells, causing memory loss and cognitive decline. This leads to severe psychological impairments which changes how people think, behave and other complications such as paranoia, disorientation and unprovoked aggression. These psychological impairments reduce people’s functional ability and therefore reduce their quality of life.
In conclusion, even though patients with Alzheimer’s disease live through a daily struggle, it can be managed if certain precautions are taken. Learning to cope with having Alzheimer’s and taking care of another with Alzheimer’s is very important for recovery and preserving the mental state of a possessor. Within the near future, finding a cure and other treatments will soon be possible. Alzheimer’s Disease is a major problem in the United States at this time. One problem is the stress that gets put on family members of the patient. According to the National Institution of Health “The demands of day-to-day care, changing family roles, and difficult decisions about placement in a care facility can be hard to handle.” Having to take care of someone who can not even recognize you, let alone themselves, is a very stressful situation. Although this disease is an extremely big problem in the US today it is still preventable.

With all different types of bacteria and germs spread throughout a day, residents can be affected in a negative way. So with personal experience and some research, I am able to present to you the importance of hygiene of the residents' in nursing home care.
