Ruth A. Davis was born on March 28,1943. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona. Her parents are Anderson and Edith Davis. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. As a child she attended E.R. Carter and E.C. Clements Elementary School. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1962. She also attended Spelman College in Atlanta from 1962 to 1966. Where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology. In 1968, Davis received her master’s degree from the School of Social Work at the University of California at Berkeley.

Ruth Posner is one of the many few holocaust survivors and a great dancer, choreographer and actress. Ruth was born on April 20, 1933, in Warsaw. She was raised in a Jewish family with her parents, but went to a Catholic school. At home, she spoke Polish. Ruth suddenly started hearing offensive comments by some of her close Polish Catholic friends. They said things like “you killed Christ.” It was an incredible shock.” That was just the beginning. By the time she was just 12, and the Second World War was underway, Ruth had lost both her parents and her world as she knew it. She was in the middle of the Holocaust.
Rachel Dein is a London Based artist, who studied Fine Arts at Middlesex University . She is most famously known for her tiles made of cement and plaster featuring molds of flowers. She currently runs and owns the Tactile Studio in North London to support herself and her three children. Before setting up her own studio, but after going to art school, she decided to take up an apprenticeship at The Royal Opera House and later branched out to other theaters to continue her prop making career including The English National Opera, The West End Theaters, London Transport Museum and Selfridges Christmas windows. Her time in prop making allowed her to explore her love of theatre, film, and opera while expanding her knowledge of 3d design. She also enjoys gardening, which is where she has gotten some of the materials for her craft.
Mary Bryant was in the group of the first convicts (and the only female convict) to ever escape from the Australian shores. Mary escaped from a penal colony which often is a remote place to escape from and is a place for prisoners to be separated. The fact that Bryant escaped from Australia suggests that she was a very courageous person, this was a trait most convicts seemed to loose once they were sentenced to transportation. This made her unique using the convicts.
Such literal divides like this were enough for Davis to prove her stand against racial injustice. When the The Black Liberation Movement was active between the 1960s and 1970s, Davis took part in strong support of her African American people, particularly in prison systems. The Black Power movement was a powerful, action based assertion of racial pride, and self-definition where multiple Afro-American Terrorist groups stood together to fight racism. Interpreted differently both outside and within African-American communities, Black Power was a well reasoned advancement of civil rights. Davis already having a name for herself, being a close associate of the Black Panthers and Student Nonviolence Coordinating Committee. (First) Though she faced many difficulties entering this field she didn't give up and that's what allowed her to reach her goals. Phyllis Lose's work is inspirational because she changed the world of veterinary medicine, empowered girls to enter a ''man's field'' of work, and showed great strength by not giving up in order to reach her goals.
She did not enter the world to a life of glamor. From the beginning, her life was a tough one. Her family resided in Harlem during the 1930’s and 40;s. Times were very difficult for the young girl. Her family was on welfare and she, herself was a client of the society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
After moving to Rochester, NY in 1845, the Anthony family became very active in the anti-slavery movement.

Born on November 21st, 1956, Cherry Jones was born in Paris TN. She was born to a high school teacher mother and a flower shop owner father. She was born as a tomboy and spent a lot of her time outdoors, and never excelled in school very well. As she progressed in age, her mother often inspired her in many ways, one being an actress. As a teen Cherry attended Henry County High School where she began her acting career with the help of teacher, Linda Miller.
Then in 1946 she graduated from Brooklyn College after that she started school at Columbia University and eventually graduated with a masters degree in elementary education in 1951. But before she left there she worked as a child care director and an educational consultant at the New York City’s Bureau of Child Welfare. While she was working there she found a love for her soon to be husband Conrad Chisholm, who she was married to from 1949 until 1977 when they got a divorce. Then in 1964 she decided to run for New York Legislature and became the second African American to get in. She spent seven terms fighting for social justice and access to quality education for all while also working on the education and labor committee, veterans affairs committee, and campaigning the rights and empowerment of women, African Americans, and the poor. She also had a key role in SNAP, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and was one of the founding members of the Congress Black Caucus and the National Organization
Coretta Scott King was born Coretta Scott on April 27th, 1927 in Marion, Alabama to her parents Obadiah and Bernice Scott. She had two siblings. They were a boy named Obadiah and a girl named Edythe and lived on a farm owned by her family. Her education as a little girl included attending a one room elementary school and a bigger high school, that was further away from her home because of the racial segregation in her community, named Lincoln Normal School. Coretta graduated in 1945 and headed off to Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. There she studied music and got into clubs pertaining to politics dealing with race such as the NAACP chapter of her school. She graduated from Antioch with a Bachelor’s Degree in music and education and shortly afterwards achieved a full scholarship to attend the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston to study concert singing. The votes were in, and on 2004, Gwen Moore was the first African-American woman to be elected a representative in Wisconsin. This was a marvelous accomplishment for Gwen to achieve in 2004. Many times, people admire Gwen for doing this. She is a very important woman in Wisconsin history for many more reasons, however. For this, believe she should be recognized more than she currently is. One reason she's important is because, she is breaking barriers for women in Wisconsin. Moore also has an important job and government role, like being a representative and previous senator of Wisconsin. Another reason that she's important, is because she wants to help others, and this is shown with a group naming her volunteer of the decade. These are a few of the reasons that I believe that congresswoman Gwen Moore, is an important Wisconsin woman. This makes Gwen a very important woman, and one that I cherish her for the work that she is doing

What is it like to live a life with Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)? Narcissism is a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy. People with this disorder can be vindictive, selfish, cunning person. They do not care who is harmed or hurt. Abigail was the leader of all of the girls that were seen dancing and calling on evil spirits. Abigail would threaten the girls by saying if they said anything, she would kill or harm them severely. She wanted what she couldn’t have, so that made her psychologically unstable. Abigail William’s would be convicted in today’s court because she gave many threats to kill the girls who were with her the night they were dancing if they spoke up in court, her behavior caused harm to many even though she may not have physically done damage herself and due to previous court cases, some people diagnosed with Narcissism were found innocent due to their mental instability but others were guilty because they were mentally unstable. As it is shown, Narcissistic Personality Disorder causes her to be selfish, arrogant, dangerous, and obsess over the man she could not have, because Abigail threatened the girls she was with the night they were dancing, to not confess to anything in court.
Angela Davis is an international activist/ organizer, author, professor, and scholar who defends any form of oppression. She was born January 26, 1944 in Birmingham, AL to Frank and Sally Davie. Both of her parents are graduates of historically black colleges. Her father attended St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina and became a high school teacher. Sally Davis attended Mile College in Birmingham, AL and became an elementary school teacher.
