In Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Second Discourse, “Origin and the Foundations of Inequality Among Mankind”, the Philosopher describes his thoughts on the origin of inequality which he identifies as two types. The first being natural (age, health, strength, etc.) with the second being political moral/political, created by societies. In part two, he discusses his view on the latter of the two sources of inequality, stating that it is derived from the need to control other human beings.
