Golf is a sport of fun shots, and frustration shots. One of the best players ever to play the sport was Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus had many accomplishments in golf and even though I will not mention all of his accomplishments I will mention some of the most important. Jack won six Masters Tournaments, the Masters is the biggest golf tournament of the whole year, and he won his sixth Masters at the age of forty-six! He won seventy-three PGA tour wins and eighteen majors, meaning that he won either the U.S. open, the Open Championship, the Masters Tournament, or the PGA Championship eighteen times! Jack even won PGA tour player of the year five times! Jack’s accomplishments are very good but we have to start at the beginning.
One of these players is Phil Mickelson. Phil is one of the best golfers today and of all time. Phil is one of the best short game players of all time. He has also won many titles and won many other competition. Phil causes a lot of kids to practice harder and become better golfers, because he has made so many amazing golf shots. Phil also sets the standards for the golfers like he says, “The object of golf is not just to win. It is to play like a gentleman, and win,”(Mickelson). Phil is a very great person and an even better golfer. This is amazing that kids today look up to such a great person and golfer, that person being Phil.
A champion was born unknowingly on September 2, 1952. A child was born to rise above his comrades. He was born James Scott Connors after his father. From the time he was barely three years old, no one could tell that little Jimmy was going to be a champion. Destined for glory his mother and grandmother knew that for Jimmy to be great he would have to work extremely hard. So everyday until Jimmy was a teenager his mother and grandmother would drill him with tennis balls, seeing early that he had tremendous talent. Small for his age, Jimmy had to make up for it somehow. So while other children his age played with toys or watched T.V., Jimmy would be out on the tennis court working on his game. Jimmy wanted to be the best. He knew that his success depended on his speed and his technique.
Woods grew up watching his father golf day after day in the garage and anywhere else his father could get his hands on a club. His father was not only his coach but his best friend and when he died a few years down the road, it showed in the way Woods played. Woods had his father as a coach since he was able to stand up on his own and without the encouragement and the talent of both his father and himself the world may have never seen a problem with golf being an all-white game. Woods hadn’t doubted himself since the day he stepped on the green in 1997 to prove everyone wrong about his ability, but the day he had to play without his father was the day it

Throughout the history of golf there have been many players that carry a sense of dominance, but none greater than Tiger Woods. His competitiveness and the way he strives for excellence is one of the main reasons Tiger is beyond talented. Woods has the most decorative career resume along with being the face of a multi-billion-dollar company Nike. He has gone through lots of ups and downs in his career. Although his career is filled with incredible accolades. Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of all time, and the first billionaire sportsman, but he also struggles with his actions off the course.
As what many claim to be the most important and most exciting golf tournament of the year approaches, it is fascinating to reminisce on the history.
Golf, as Defined by Mark Twain, “is a good walk spoiled”, and too many in this day it is becoming more and more common to be looked at in this way. Golf, beginning around 1996, entered a new era, and that is the one controlled by a sports icon, named Tiger Woods. What used to be a game for elderly gentleman sitting at the country club, playing nine holes a day on a fairly easy golf course, took a whole new shape. Golf became a game of long tee shots and amazingly accurate approach shots, taking the game to a new super low scoring level, that seemed to be only feasible by tour pros, which seem to never miss. With all this change, golf is beginning to lose interest, yet why? Is it because it is too difficult? Not any fun? Or is it just too expensive? Well in all honesty, it may be all of these things and more. Yet, I believe, it is time everyone over looks these hurdles, hops over them, and on to the golf bandwagon, and understand how to enjoy the game, more than ever before.
Golf is defined as a game in which clubs with wooden or metal heads are used to hit a small, white ball into a number of holes, situated at various distances over a course having natural or artificial obstacles. The object is to get the ball into each hole in as few strokes as possible (2017 Dictionary.com LLC). It is a very popular sport throughout the world and it is only increasing in popularity. It is a game that takes time and effort to master, but can prove to be a great, relaxing sport that anyone of all ages can play.

There are several techniques to learning how to properly swing the golf club and how to accurately score a round of golf. First, learning how to grip the club his important because this allows the student golfer to hold tight to the club. Next, learning where the club should be when addressing the golf ball and where it should be at the midpoint part of the golf swing. From there, bringing it down on the same plane enables the student golfer to strike the ball at the right time. Then, participating on the golf team, teaches the new student golfer how to score properly. Scoring in golf is all dependent on how well one does on each hole. If it takes the student golfer four shots to get it in the hole and the hole is designed to be a par 4, one has reached the maximum number of shots, to reach a score of par. However, if it takes the student golfer five shots to get it in the hole, then they have gone over the number of shots that the hole is designed, leaving you with a bogey or +1 on the
