The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is a romantic play full of suspense and obscurity. Romeo and Juliet first met at the Capulet Feast where they instantaneously fall in love. Throughout the play, their families are enemies but they continue to love each other secretly. Romeo and Juliet are a pair of star crossed lovers that eventually will take their lives out of unconditional love. Their deaths will take place due to many factors in the play. The Montague's and Capulets have been feuding for a significant amount of time before Romeo meets Juliet. They have been feuding such a great deal of time that they forget what the feud is about. After a conversation and a kiss with Romeo, the Nurse tells Juliet that Romeo is part of the Montague house. Juliet says, "My only love sprung from my only hate!/Too early see unknown, and known too late!/Prodigious both of love it is to me/That I must love a loathed enemy." (I.V. 152-155) Later, Romeo meets Juliet at the Capulet house outside her bedroom balcony. Since Romeo did not read the letter, he believed his only love was dead and decided to embark on a suicide mission. Lawrence knew the immense importance of the letter and still decided against personally delivering the message. Giving the sleeping potion to Juliet was another mistake that lead to their death. Although it allowed her to avoid marrying Paris, Romeo thought his wife to be dead causing the suicide of himself and eventually of his partner. There were plenty of things they could have done differently, in order to live happily ever after. Romeo could have refrained from killing Tybalt, or Juliet could have denied her father and told him of the marriage. Not to mention that Romeo should have just obeyed and stayed in Mantua. The main thing that could have been done differently was that they should’ve thought these things through.
