Loyalty is essential to every relationship we have in life that matters – friendship, family, community, country, faith. Loyalty is essential for genuine family solidarity but blind loyalty leads to family dysfunction. Family is the single most important influence in a child's life. From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family to protect them and provide for their needs. Parents and family form a child's first relationships. They are a child's first teachers and act as role models in how to act and how to experience the world around them. Being loyal to family is most definitely important but taking the family loyalty to be more important than any other aspect of life isn't exactly healthy for people. We as humans were given a free will when we first came into this world. This means that we can do whatever, whenever and wherever but when humans first started to create the basic foundations of human civilization, they created a system of rules to enforced governed behaviour; this is known as law. These laws did limit us from doing certain things that would be counted as immoral or inappropriate but we were still given the ability to do whatever with our lifes. When we were first born and raised, we …show more content…
Tybalt’s unreasonable anger at finding Romeo at his family’s party was based on nothing more than a feeling of extremely unreasoning loyalty to his own family, the Capulet's. The Montague's and the Capulet's had a disagreement sometime ago and has been unremembered. So the bad feeling between the two families was just out of unreasoning loyalty, nothing else.Tybalt has no personal quarell with Romeo, only that he is a hated Montague crashing the Capulet party. Mercutio also demonstrates the extreme loyalty to Romeo when we began a duel with Tybalt after he insults Romeo. This results is tradegy as Merctio is killed by
Because of this conflict, confrontations occurred and insults were thrown. Hatred is bred which is evident when Tybalt, who is Lady Capulet's nephew, joins the fight against the Montague family. Tybalt hates Romeo and doesn't hesitate to let it be known.
When asked by Benvolio to make peace in the streets, Tybalt bluntly responds,” talk of peace, I hate the word. As I hate hell all Montagues.” This is the attitude of Tybalt throughout the play. He believes he is doing all for the best and uses violence as his tool. He gets angry at the ball with Romeo being there, “villain as a guest,” and believes it best to defend his family’s honor by later taking revenge. When Tybalt finds Romeo, he thinks it best to fight him and when he ends up killing Mercutio he believes he has done his duty by causing Romeo the same hurt he has brought Tybalt, “the injuries that thou hast done me.”
“This is part of what family is about, not just love, but letting others know that there is someone watching out for them”(Albom 92). From this quote, one learns that family is always there for them. Family is important to life because
Mercutio ( a dear cousin of the prince of Verona),who happened to be a very good friend of Romeo and Romeos cousin Benvolio, was with Benvolio when Tybalt (who gets angered very easily) was walking the street. streets looking for young Romeo whos about 5 years younger than Tybalt. Onlookers reported that Mercutio looked worried when Tybalt. said that he wanted a fight with Romeo about the party. Mercutio was scared of Romeo because Tybalt is a fighting machine. They try to pick fights with each other and annoy each other as much as possible.
This hatred causes many brawls including one in Act 3 scene 1. This brawl is a pawn of fate that pulls Romeo further apart from Juliet. In this scene Tybalt is upset because he believes that Romeo had crashed the Capulet ball, though in reality he had no harmful intentions. He is blood thirsty and wants to battle Romeo. Romeo is Mad, passionate and hasty. He is already symbolically dead and Mercutio and Benvolio believe that he is in no state of mind to fight, and if he were to do so he would not stand a chance against Tybalt, the prince of cats. Mercutio Is worried about this so in his attempt to protect Romeo he fights Tybalt which unleashes a big fight. Tybalt kills Mercutio. This upsets Romeo so much that he kills Tybalt because he was overwhelmed with passion and makes a hasty decision. Now bringing things back to the Capulet ball. Fate begins with Tybalt hearing Romeo express his love for Juliets beauty aloud and becomes filled with anger because he believes that Romeo is there to crash party since he is a Montague. If Tybalt never heard that, he would have never instigated a fight and Romeo would not have been exiled. This is fate rearranging time and circumstance to pull Romeo farther away from
Throughout the play, Mercutio mocks the other characters. Mercutio was never serious until right before he died when he wanted to kill Tybalt for making fun of Romeo; as Romeo wouldn’t defend his own honor. Mercutio told Romeo that if Romeo doesn’t step up to Tybalt then he would. “O calm dishonourable, vile submission! Alla stoccata carries it away.
As already shown, both Romeo and Juliet are horrified to discover that they were family enemies. Despite of this, they both choose to devote their love for eachother. Given this point, it is unrequited love that brings Romeo and Juliet together. But this also means that they would have to get over the fact that their families hate each other. This eventually leads them to forgiving the rival family for all the hateful acts that have occurred against one another. This is not the only forgiveness that is experienced in this play. Tybalt is a Montague with a fiery attitude. After catching Romeo at a party he was not supposed to be at, Tybalt had it out for Romeo. Just after Romeo and Juliet’s wedding, Tybalt comes looking for him wanting to fight. Romeo does not want to fight because he now loves Tybalt since he is family to him, but neither Tybalt or anyone else knows this reason. Quickly Mercutio steps in and tells Tybalt that he will fight him in honour of Romeo. Sadly this leads to the death of Mercutio. Romeo is angry and in need of revenge, which creates an intense fight between Tybalt and Romeo. Romeo wins this battle, killing Tybalt. He leaves in a hurry, only to discover that he would be banished from Verona. The death of Tybalt is absolutely devastating to Juliet. Her cousin was murdered by her husband. But she did not hesitate to forgive Romeo, she did so right away. She knew that Romeo had a reason for this incident and decides to
Role of Family Blood does not always classify a family, it can be defined by the strong bonds, and mutual trust shared between members. Family takes many forms as displayed throughout the shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet. This play recounts the story of two star-crossed lovers: Romeo and Juliet and the resistance they face as they struggle to be together. The famous drama depicts the many ways a family can be structured and the positive influences these family dynamics have on the main characters.
Mercutio and Tybalt get into a heated argument when they crossed each other’s path. It started
After his secret marriage with Juliet, he encounters her kinsman, Tybalt. Tybalt wears the grudge between families like a badge of honor and is mid-argument when Romeo approaches. Romeo intercedes between the warring factions. "I do protest I never injured thee, but love thee better than thou canst devise, till thou shalt know the reason of my love. And so, good Capulet—which name I tender as dearly as my own—be satisfied." (Act 3, Scene 1). To Tybalt, emotions running high from the recent confrontation and completely unaware of Romeo's new affinity for his family or his fast love of Juliet, this cryptic piece must have sounded like a
THE IMPORTANCE OF A FAMILY Having a loving family is something that no child should live without. A loving family helps shape your personality, and also helps instil good decision making in you. They also act as your support system, when you are going through hard times. Lastly, they teach you about your heritage and culture, which helps create a sense of belonging. These are just a few reasons why having a loving family is something every child should have.
There are different friendships being made and broken during the course of this play. One of which is between Romeo and Tybalt. Romeo has always despised Tybalt (a Capulet) but as he says “Tybalt, [the reason that] I have to love thee Doth much excuse the appertaining rage to such a greeting”(3.1.62-63) Romeo shows that he is so in love with Juliet that he will love anyone connected to her. Tybalt is Juliet’s cousin so Romeo tries to love him despite their conflict. After a short squabble between Tybalt, Romeo and Mercutio, Tybalt and Mercutio draw
My love and loyalty to my family has shown through the love Christ showed for me. As a Christian, the relationships we have with people should reflect the way Christ loves us. God blessed us with the unity of family. Whether that be your biological family or the people you call family, we are blessed with those who love us. My family and I have a relationship that reflects the way we were all raised.
Culture and socialisation are the two major entities that help shape our identity. The culture one is raised in as a child, and the people we come into contact with in our daily lives, can all be classified as encounters we have with socialisation. As young children who enter this world, we imitate those close to us and behaviours begin to form. It is through this imitation we also discover to express our emotions. These characteristics are engrained in us from a young age and are the major basic building blocks to help us develop our individual identities.
Everyone is born into some form of family, with the family taking the responsibility of nurturing, teaching the norms or accepted behaviors within the family structure and within society. There are many types of families, which can be described as a set of relationships including parents and children and can include anyone related by blood or adoption. Family is the most important, “for it is within the family that the child is first socialized to serve the needs of the society and not only its own needs” (Goode, 1982).
