On the surface, Romeo & Juliet is a simple tragic love story: boy meets girl, they fall in love, time elapses, things go wrong, and an end is met. But if you ask why was the end met, well there's where you get into the details of the story and the individual aspects of the mostly nondescript characters, in particular Romeo himself. Look into his ridiculously romantic lines, and you'll notice either the flaw in his character, the mistake he made, or the way fate plays with its toys.
The first way that Romeo and Juliet are similar to Pyramus and Thisbe is the two lovers wanting to run away together. With Pyramus and Thisbe, the lovers couldn’t be together and therefore were willing to leave everything behind to be together for the remainder of their lives. In the case of Romeo and Juliet, they were under much more pressure and stress to come to their decision. After Romeo was banished, Juliet was to feign death and then when Romeo came to get her they were to leave Verona and never come back. It is said so in Act IV, Scene i, lines 116 and 117, “Will watch thy waking, and that very night Shall Romeo bear thee hence to Mantua.”
I preferred Romeo and Juliet to Shakespeare in Love because Romeo and Juliet felt like a tragedy, while Shakespeare in Love was sad at the end but there wasn’t as much bloodshed and violence, and nobody in Shakespeare in Love were bitter and heartbroken at the end besides Shakespeare and Viola. Even though it was hard to understand at times I like the iambic pentameter and poetic language in Romeo and Juliet. Although I did enjoy the humorous parts of Shakespeare in Love but there was still funny parts in Romeo and Juliet.
In both of the stories, each of the characters fell in love with each other. Romeo fell in love with Juliet and Pyramus fell in love with Thisbe. This was one of the choices they decided to make, in Romeo and Juliet. Advice is always helpful and it can be used to solve many problems. But advice can also be dangerous if the outcome is not considered. In William Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet, the blame for Romeo and Juliet's death lies on Friar Laurence. In spite of being the most kind, sensible and thoughtful person, he presents misleading advises and actions towards the lovers which lead to their tragic death. Friar Laurence's deceptive advices and actions towards the lovers are secretly marrying Romeo and Juliet in the hope of getting two families together and bring peace to Verona, Friar Laurence organizes poorly for the plan of Juliet's fake death which causes the death of the lovers, Friar Laurence proposes a plan to fake Juliet's death and gives her the potion which leads to Romeo and Juliet's death.
Many people think that society has changed so much over the years. That the way that children act, has taken a turn for the worst, but in reality children are learning from their ancestors. Children are lying to their parents, they are sneaking out at night to be with a boy that is “the one”, children are going back into the age of Shakespeare. In the play “Romeo and Juliet” which was written by William Shakespeare in 1597, there are two teenagers, Romeo and Juliet, who fall in love with each other. These two teenagers try to do everything that they can to live the rest of their lives together, except their families despise each other, so there is no way that they can live the rest of their lives together. So, many people believe that the way that our children are growing up today is taking away the fun parts of their childhood. However in this play Juliet did many of the things that teenagers are trying to do now. Children and sometimes adults now need to realize how your actions not only affect you but also the people around you, you also need to think about the consequences of the actions you make. At first Juliet falls in love at first sight with Romeo, then she takes a potion, which causes her family to think she is dead, and then how Friar Lawrence helps Juliet with the scheming, which shows how adults have to think about others as well.
Famous texts often have many similarities as it makes good discussions to find all the possible things that are very related to one another. These certain texts between Romeo and Juliet and Pyarum and Thisbe are almost so closely related, that there are infamous of resemblances that you can point out. There are the obvious general observations, but once you dig deep, you find that there are much more comparisons that meet the eye. Since they are so closely related, we are able to really truly understand the concepts that stand out through each reading. This will make our thoughts deeper and more powerful towards both texts. In Romeo and Juliet, the text is very similar to Pyramus and Thisbe through a love connection between characters even though differences between families make it a struggle, miscommunication and misunderstandings, and the conclusion of a tragedy.

This story will take you through a lot of mixed emotion and will show you what a true feud is. Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragic love story about two young lovers who are forced to be estranged as a result of their feuding families. The play is about their struggle to contravene fate and create a future together. As such, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood would try and emulate Shakespeare’s masterpiece. This had been done before in many films. Prominent among them were, Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 “Romeo and Juliet” and Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 “William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.” Both films stay true to the themes of Shakespeare’s original play. However, the modernised Luhrmann film not only maintains the essence of Shakespeare’s writings, Luhrmann makes it relevant to a teenage audience. This is done through the renewal of props and costumes, the reconstruction of the prologue and the upgrading of the setting, whilst preserving the original Shakespearean language. Out of the two, it is Luhrmann who targets Romeo & Juliet to a younger audience to a much larger extent than Zeffirelli.

“Romeo and Juliet” is so much like “Pyramus and Thisbe” it is excruciatingly obvious. These timeless tales tell the story of true love, and also the loss of death. “Romeo and Juliet” can compare to “Pyramus and Thisbe” for three reasons; the lovers come from disagreeing families, the tales are both tragedy, and they are based on misconception and ill-timing. Although these stories are painful, they are also true to human nature, and that is why they are so similar.
