Music has always been one of the most popular ways of entertainment; music has been here as long as we can remember. Now days, we have different genres of music, just as we had in the past, but the difference is, that the artists and genres we have today, they were inspired by one: Rock n’ Roll. In the past, this genre held two of the most popular artists that have ever existed: The Beatles and Elvis Presley, both stronger influences of the new creations.
In the late 40s, new record technologies were emerging making music even more popular. Examples of those record technologies were the 45 RPM, used to record a single song rather than an album; the 33s, holding a total of 40 minutes, originally called “Microograves;” or the 12 in 33 1/3 RPM record format for long play records. This change in taste in music on teenagers made changes in the creation of music. There were a cross-current of musical style: blues, boogies, jazz, gospel, R & B vocal groups, and country, all of them with an influence on the new creations (“Rock Music Timeline”).
