The Rock Hall has had massive success over the past 22 years it has been open, so what does the future hold for the museum, more success, a decline? Overall, the future looks bright for the Rock Hall, but some changing and growing need to happen before the rock hall truly grows, one of those changes being the genre of the artists they induct. Many experts expect the Rock Hall to start straying from its rock and roll roots. Rap, Hip-hop and pop have all taken over our radio waves and are extremely dominant today. In order to keep up with the general public and their wants, the hall will need to start broadening their inductees into different genres (Hyden). I never thought a city so close to home had such a large impact on my favorite genre of music. Living in North East Ohio my whole life and never knowing any of its rich music history was a surprise. I have learned a lot from my exploration and search for answers to my questions about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. All of the things I have learned from this search have opened my eyes to many new facts, sources and statistics I would have otherwise never come across. I found the affects Cleveland had on rock music very interesting and quite cool. I found the induction requirements interesting; I never knew it took so long for an artist to be inducted into a Hall of Fame. I was also shocked to really see the lack of women represented in the hall of fame, as a young woman myself, that upset me, but hopefully in the future there is a change for the better. I never realized how much of an economic impact the hall of fame had on Cleveland. I never knew it was such an attraction, especially for people who do not live here in Ohio. I hope to return to the hall of fame sometime soon and continue to learn new things from my experiences
