“Stay hungry, stay foolish” (Jobs, 2005, 14:12), these words from Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford Commencement address are a summation of all three narrative accounts in his speech. Mr. Jobs’s used narrative accounts to deliver a strong message to the 2005 Stanford graduating class. According to Dr. Stoda, (2012), “narrative accounts are offered as explanatory stories” (p.200). They paint verbal pictures and invoke the audiences imagination and use belly rationality. Within Steve Jobs’ speech he constructed reported accounts, relatable allegories, and recounted anecdotes.
