In this article, Jonathan gives a proposal of what he thinks can serve as a solution to help the Irish deal with the poverty status in the country. In the first part of the article Swift clearly demonstrates the conditions of poverty in the Ireland as he draws attention to the root causes of it indirectly and in great depth portrays why he thinks his proposal would offer the best solution (Swift, 1995). Swift demonstrates the poor situation in Ireland by giving the conditions and suffering of the children born out of poverty, and the plight of starving beggars in the streets.
