Greg Stier is the executive director, president, and originator of Dare 2 Share Ministries International as of 1991. Stier has instructed over 30,000 Christian adolescents around North America in how to live out their faith in confidence and with boldness. In 1997 he was the guest speaker at the Youth for Christ’s DC/LA events, and he revisited that speakership at Y2K the Fellowship of Christian Athletes forum. “Youth ministry became his full-time focus on April 20, 1999, due to the Columbine High School massacre.” Stier has written such published works as ‘You're Next!’ and ‘Dare 2 Share: A Guide to Sharing the Faith (Focus on the Family)’ as well as several curricula on evangelism preparation. According to Stier, “[he doesn’t] come from a church going… religious family. His was a tough urban family filled with bodybuilding, tobacco chewing, and beer drinking thugs. He recounts how seeming through a lifetime (although not quite that long a time), his tough and thuggish family was led to Christ in one way or another. The impact that Jesus had on his extended family, that from the time he was 11 years of age, he just knew that he was going to be a preacher!” He and his wife Debbie have two children, and currently reside in the Denver area.

...s is a concept which should resonate with the teenage mind. The title of the book is the same title of a movie a few years old, yet he applies it to a plan which was set forth within the early church. To quote Steir, the outbreak, “spreads like an epidemic. It infected the general populace so quickly that no one was safe.” With a few emendations of word choices and phraseology, this is indeed a unique way of viewing and considering how to do youth ministry.

N.T. Wright: During my first semester at Northwestern College, I was assigned the book, “The Challenge of Jesus” by N.T. Wright for one of my Biblical Studies courses. This book and every other book Tom Wright has written has dramatically impacted my Christian faith. Dr. Wright has not only defended the basic tenants of the Christian faith, but also has shown how an academically-minded pastor ought to love and care for his or her congregants. N.T. Wright was previously the Bishop of Durham and pastored some of the poorest in the United Kingdom. His pastoral ministry has helped shape his understanding of God’s kingdom-vision which he is diagramming within his magnum opus “Christian Origins and the Question of God”. This series has instructed myself and countless other pastors to be for God’s kingdom as we eagerly await Christ’s return. Additionally, I have had the privilege of meeting with N.T. Wright one-on-one on numerous occasions to discuss faith, the Church, and his research. I firmly believe Tom Wright is the greatest New Testament scholar of our generation and he is the primary reason why I feel called into ministry.

The construction of the canal was recommenced by the Americans in 1904. The first step on the agenda was to improve the standard of living and ensure ill health would be a thing of the past.
No one wanted to be around the plague, but those members of the church that reacted to the epidemic by helping their neighbors truly showed what that Catholic Church was really like in the 14th century. There was a need for a canal through the isthmus of Central America. The big question was who would step up and build it. France had just lost the Franco-Prussian War against Germany. The country felt that it had lost some prestige in eyes of other nations. There seemed only one certain way to restore its glory, undertake and complete the most challenging engineering feat in history. Build a canal through Central America and link the world’s two greatest oceans. (Dolan 53)
The Family Friendly Church by Ben Freudenburg was an interesting book that I was not entirely sure how I would react to it because I had heard mixed reviews on it from different people; in the end, after reading it, I ultimately liked it. The book talked about a lot of truth in family ministry how it is not that important in many churches. Ben talked about how at one of his first church’s, he and his wife, Jennifer, took on the role of parents in the youth group and once they took another call the ministry fell apart because they had made it all about them and not the actual parents (Page 18). I like that Ben admitted this about his past and got me thinking about my home church’s youth ministry which parents were not prioritized to be involved
Now the clock ticked on several fronts: The gradual loss of religious freedom, whisked in a one-world church coupled with global governmental rule already firmly established as wars broke out all over the world. Although these and others were biblically implied events, the looming killer microbe (from the heavens) readied itself for pandemonium. Could it be that they were about to experience a ‘pestilence’ in biblical proportions? Not enough time remained to worry about being cool in the delivery of such an urgent message.
Overall, this book helped me become more aware of my weaknesses with my preaching style and also gave me tools to strengthen them. The examples are very basic and practical and helped highlight key skills and situations that a preacher can experience when doing a sermon. This book added more knowledge to me and gave me new insights that I can use as a tool when I go back with my ministry as a youth worker.
The economic impact of the Panama Canal is best noted in increased jobs and income for individuals, families, and the entire economy of the United States. The main way by which the canal has impacted the US economy is increased export and import travel and trade. In fact, goods are exchanged through the Panama Canal on a daily basis. It is reported that more than 10% of U.S. shipping passes through the Panama Canal. Besides providing avenues for exchanging import and export goods
The creation of the Panama Canal was far more than an unprecedented feat of engineering. It was a profoundly important historic event and a sweeping human drama, not unlike that of a war. Apart from wars, it represented the largest, most costly single effort ever before performed anywhere on earth. It held the world’s attention over a span of 40 years because of the all the various labor exerted and problems that had to be solved for completion of this major world project (Ayers et al 610). It affected the lives of multiple nationalities. Great reputations were both made and destroyed. This world project involved numerous men and women who worked and faced this creation as an adventure of a lifetime (Hammond 64).
