The theme of Remember The Titans is to stand together no matter what skin color you are, you need to treat one another like a brother. The team started to bond in camp since Coach Boone had brought the team to the Battle of Gettysburg where the Union soldiers fought alongside with other races in the of freedom, justice, and liberty for all. In the beginning of the movie, the townsfolk were rioting against merging the two schools and the football teams as the players were against each other at first. Coach Yoast wanted to see how this played out, without Coach Boone’s intervention and as the whole team started to crowd up to argue, they began to chant and care about each other without caring what race they were. After camp, the Titan football team had returned to their hometown to play against the opposing team. Later in the day and the townsfolk had gone to the first Titans football game; when they saw their sons beating the rival team, the parents started to cheer their sons on. The team stood together as one. During bad times in a game, they outsmarted their opponents in the heat of their game at home or at the opponent’s hometown. The Titans had made their rally call as they cared for one another if a terrible situation had occurred to their friends or family. Coach Boone, Yoast, and the entire football team had received horrible news that Gerry had been in a car crash and was not able to play for state season. Gerry prayed that his team would win. Coach Boone asks Coach Yoast, the former coach, to stay and be his assistant coach. He agrees and the white players also join the team along with the blacks. Boone in a sense faces a challenge of acceptance in which, by the end of the movie, he has experienced in two noticeable ways. Boone faces the challenge of being accepted by the community, revealing to us that he wants the community working together rather than judging and persecuting one another. Additionally Boone fights for the acceptance and respect of his team, The Titans, proving to them that they can indeed "make this race thing work".

The movie I decided to analyze was Remember the Titans. I examined the dilemmas and ethical choices that were displayed throughout the story. His vision for the team involves getting the players concerned in what the team needs to become, and not what it is supposed to be; a waste. The movie highlights the relationships of the black and white people, and how they learned to interact with each other in a time when this was not the way of life. It brings up a number of questions throughout, of what is right and what is wrong, and really challenges the characters, making it a very interesting movie to watch. I have seen this movie many times, and each time I feel like I get something new out of it. It is a movie that can be used as a teaching tool, it does a great job of interpreting not only what was happening in the United States of America at that time, but social psychology concepts through real life situations.
