Growing is always hard. Things become more challenging and you are left with a bundle of responsibilities. High school made me change to be ready for encounters with other people and for when I go to college in the future.
High school trained me by actually taking responsibilities on my actions but also on my work. I concentrate way harder than I used to back in middle school since the grades are going to follow me through college. I have made myself want to finish my work because it will be way harder in the long run if I didn’t. I have learned how to better interact with other people. This sounds abnormal but it’s true. I used to hang out with only a small group of friends in middle school because I didn’t want to get to know other people.
It's quite difficult transitioning from being the biggest to back to being the smallest. In eighth grade, you've finally become comfortable with your peers, the school, and even the teachers, and it's gone in a matter of a couple months. My perception of high school was extremely terrifying because it was an academy where I didn't really know anyone because it was slightly far. It seems so easy when you already know someone at the school because they can help guide you around, but to a zoning that's a twenty minute distance it's difficult. I expected the least, honestly. I knew that the halls would be packed, getting to classes would be confusing, and teachers would continuously give homework, but no one said it would be so much more. Moving
Throughout high school, my experience was very difficult. The past three years at Wise high school have been difficult because I have transitioned from a small school to a huge school. It seemed like staying to myself was easier. It cut out on drama and unnecessary interactions. This helped me in school because each individual person shows their culture and they express it vibrantly. Being passively social in school helps me realized that there lots of opinions and point of views. I tend to take in more than what I spit out but it's because I want to hear people out and understand where they are coming from. Throughout my art classes, the teachers help me express myself without talking. It challenges me to be more creative and imaginative.
High school did not prepare me for college at all. I didn’t even have to take any finals junior or senior year. Everything was very laid back and I felt like I had all the time in the world. My classes consisted of mainly art and band, so I didn’t have a whole lot of tough, time consuming assignments. The longest paper I have ever written was two pages. Writing doesn’t come easily to me, which must make me a glutton for punishment. It has taken me years of training, learning to structure an essay and unlearning to begin again. Only since attending HSU am I realizing how exceptional my writing has become. Over the course of two semesters, I have seen my writing expand and grow. While I still adhere to the training I received in high school, I am excited to now take these tools and develop my own unique style in the years to come.
High school and middle school have many similarities, as well as differences. A few similarities would be that in each level of education, there are eight periods in a school day. In both middle school and high school you have access to a computer. Both schools have M.A.P. testing in the spring and fall.
Nothing could have been worse for me than being a teenager in middle school, until I became a teenager in middle school with depression. If anyone had told me several years ago that everything would get better, I would have nodded while screaming disbelief inside my head. I thought things simply could not get better, that I would forever feel imprisoned in a dark room.

At times I am very thankful for high school because of the great friends I am getting out of it. High school has showed me that it isn’t just about learning and having good grades, it’s about having fun and showing people the real you. It is about being the person you are. Making friends and having fun with them. High school has helped me make so many great friends. And coming from a little school and not knowing anybody, I didn’t ever think I was going to make the friends that I did. And I am more than grateful for them. My friends and high school have made me the person that I am today. It has showed me that high school is filled with different kinds of people and some people just aren’t going to like you and that is okay.. Their lose is that way I look at it. It has showed me that some things just aren’t going to go the way you want them too. Things will go wrong and you’re just going to have to find a way to get over them. My friends have showed me that with the support of them behind me that I can do anything and know that they are going to be there for me and support me all the way through.
I was able to make friends and have a few more years of being immature. High School is when everyone starts to grow up and I know that sounds pretty but I am pretty excited. There will be not as strong of a dress code and I won't be stuck with the same class for the next three years.
High School Do you remember your high school days? High school for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned. You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are, what kind of help is offered to you, and what your strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending High School helped build my confidence because my classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome my fear of math.
Have you ever injured yourself when trying to have fun? Well, one cold, frosty, August family night where you would have to wear layers of clothing just not to get frostbite. My family and I had a fun time going on the newest rides and had a good time trying the funnel cakes for our very first time. Like most people, my family and I all wore nice warm layers of clothing barring my big brother Camren. Camren is in Middle School at this time and of course in their “Middle School” brain it is cool to wear shorts and a short sleeve shirt when it is sixty degrees outside. The thing about wanting to look cool is that it might not always feel good. So while my family and I was feeling warm and having a good time not focusing on the sixty-degree weather. My brother couldn’t do anything that meant that he had to sit for a long time because he was not trying to get frostbite which is funny to me.
I was blind during high school. I lacked the vision to understand the golden opportunity I had, and instead looked at school work as an inconvenience. I was unable to recognize my long term path in life, and instead focused only on the short term. Rather than working diligently and achieving accomplishments that actually matter, I took a path of self- indulgence. Back then I was content with floating through life and being a mediocre underachiever.
You can learn a lot about yourself in high school, from how you use your time in school to the after school activities you do. What you do, from a freshman to a senior, will determine what you want and can do for future careers. High school will challenge you in many ways, from organizational skills to time management skills. All the life lessons from high school can really tie into one category, time management.
I am what I refer to as a creature of habit where I value routine and I appreciate consistency. While I am structured at heart, I can be flexible too when it is necessary. My ability to be flexible shines when I work with or for students. I realized early in my career that teaching is not a one size fits all situations and as much as our students are evolving and changing, we need to as well. Change in a school can be related to educational practices, leadership, or even physical space. It can be out of necessity or even to keep an academically challenging school’s curriculum, xxx. Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
