During the semester of English Composition II, I have learned how to make an argumentative writing and include comparisons within my works to make it more logical. The aspect of understanding more comprehendible forms of writing will help me in y future to better myself and my work. The papers I write, and the forms in which is the most proper and beneficial. Although, I have struggled with my writing, I have learned valuable contexts to incorporate for my future. Argumentation has benefited me to depict on a subject and make it more understandable from the views of my own. I displayed evidence through surveys on real people and incorporated it into my work. I evaluated the research I gathered to for a different style of writing. In the paper, Success in the eyes of Athletes, I conducted a more persuasive outlook on why it meant this. It included that “Success for athletes should mean achieving goals. John Wooden, Basketball Hall of Fame player and coach once said, “Success is a piece of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do the best of which you are capable.” (Smoll 1) Wooden discusses the key to success in sports and life by emphasizing on how important it is for athletes to strive for excellence in everything they do.” This was to decipher multiple views and put them into one basic outlook. The previous thesis was more to provide evidence that this is what Success truly means to Athletes. It was beneficial to use a variety of examples in which made my topic more confident. The direction for readers was to understand the reasoning of why it meant this and how many people believe it is to be true. By supporting this topic, I could be more reliable in which makes the writing clearer. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with the use of citations, however I believe now I can do it alone and understand why they need to be involved. The strength of this writing I would say is excessively strong based on the fact that it has several cases of evidence, examples, and reasoning to back up the topic. One thing to remember while taking the work form specific sites is to watch for plagiarism. Always being sure to cite properly can avoid having these types of conflicts. With the use of quotation marks and stating where the article of survey came from is a positive factor in excluding plagiarism. We want to make this paper formal, so having proper formatting is an essential part also. All the papers that I stated were formatted with the use of MLA and that essay’s style. There are many different ways of doing this but I believe for this particular writing it was the most
