The fact that many people don’t necessarily know the dangers of our environment through pollution is thrilling. Watching the films A civil Action, Tapped and Erin Brockovich raises attention to how our environment is being effected on many circumstances, with addition to companies not caring because how big the number is when they receive their income. On EPA.gov there are many issues regarding the plots in each of the three films. Including A Civil Action and the dumping of hazardous materials into water, Tapped and the impact water bottles have toward pollution and Erin Brockovich, where the pollution causing innocent people to become ill. Another idea to bring into perspective is the trail us humans leave behind as we move on. This can be seen in the film The Human Footprint and on World Wild Life’s website.
A common theme seen throughout the films A Civil Action, Tapped and Erin Brockovich is the producer always being focused on money and not caring what their company is doing innocent people and our environment. For example Companies like Nestle, Coca-Cola and Pepsi in the short documentary Tapped, have more of an impact to our environment than one might think. These companies produce plastic bottles which lead to a drastic amount of pollution. Yes the pollution is caused by the manufacturing of plastic bottles themselves but the sheer amount of plastic water bottles found in the ocean is staggering. Even though the amount of pollution they provide, they still continue these bad habits that slowly kill us based on how much money they earn in the process. ...ms have one thing in common that could’ve helped the factories from either being shut down or drastically changing regulations. If these companies didn’t pay full attention into how much their income was at the end of the day, pollution could be minimal and so could the damages inflicted on innocent people. Plastic shown in Tapped is one of the biggest causes of pollution in our world today since the materials put into making them and the waste the leave behind infects the environment. The ocean is actually turning into a “plastic soup” (Tapped). This includes diapers from The Human Footprint as well. Even things like dumping hazardous materials into water in A Civil Action and the pollution case with Erin Brockovich in Erin Brockovich can cause grave danger in many ways. Thankfully for EPA, the world and environment can hang on a little longer due to regulations.
