When i couldnt able to submit all, i was developing a fear that i might fail all and dismissed, since i have a great desire to study. Since i am a refugee who leave in camp, there are a lot of problems. But i decided not to give up and ask my instructors to extend my time. Thank you all for supporting me and understand my situation. Here i will present below the given assignment.
Based on the question on the learning journal;
The major topic that impresesd me in this week topic are: inflation which was occured in all the countries, where the less developmed countries are more affected. I remember my country, Eritrea was very

From my point of view, the unemployment rate in the state experiencing the out-migration will not get improved. Because those who are living the country were alread unemployed , so unless the government make some investiment and creat employment , there wouldnt be any change. But when we see the country where the people get in, there will be an increase in unemployment rate, because there will be too much people for a single job. This will lead to competition for the job area. Those who came from abroad migh be also have good knowledge and become the reason for reason for the unemployment of the use in the country.
3.American workers work more hours than their European counterparts. Should Congress legislate a shorter workweek?(University of People, 2016)
I support the idea that the congress should legislate a shorter work hours. I have my friend there and i heard him saying all the time that he is in hurry, even eating and walking. The people who live in hurry comparing to the European country. From my book i read that , people in hurry, forget the art of smiling which is the very important thing in their life. They work in hurry day and night , dont remember that what life mean. I agree with the idea that if the law would be set that a fexed amount of hours is allwoed to work in week, so that there would be a balance in
Second, when a region experiences structural unemployment workers must move to a different area to find a job that matches their skills. Moving creates a problem because workers might have to move their entire family to accept a job offer. Most people remain unemployed because they are unwilling to move their entire life into a new

Previous generations have a strong belief of keeping work and home life separate; that work is for work and home is for play (Rampell, 2011, para 21). Today’s professionals do not seem to abide by similar beliefs, constantly crossing the borders of one into the other. While many recognize this as an issue that could result in employees being less productive, it has actually resulted in them accepting that their work may run late into the evening or even into the weekend. I agree with this completely in that I grew up being taught that business is business and personal is personal; you leave your home life at the door. But now times have changed, and my weekends are no longer dedicated to my home life, but for work, because I attend classes during the week. Also, in my line of work in the Allied Health industry, it is a requirement to work off hours. Long gone are the days of working nine to five, Monday through Friday; technology and the demand of wanting affairs done and done as soon as possible, has made it so the “work week” is now 24-7. “Jon Della Volpe, the director of polling at Harvard Institute of Politics, said, ‘Some experts also believe that today’s young people are better at quickly switching from one task to another, given their exposure to so many stimuli during their childhood and adolescence’” (Rampbell,
In the 1870s, several Radical Republicans agitated for the eight hour day and improved conditions and treatment for the working people. But, with limited power and isolation in Congress, the Radical Republicans were unable to persuade Congress to pass legislation to protect the emerging trade union movement.
The trends in unemployment affect three important macroeconomics variables: 1) gross domestic product (GDP), 2) unemployment rate, and 3) the inflation rate.
When the U.S. is compared to the conditions of other workers in other countries the numbers come as quite a shock. According to the magazine Psychology Today, “The United States—one of the richest countries in the world--ranks 28th among advanced nations in the category of work-life balance, 9th from the bottom” (Cummins 1). This stressful imbalance of home life with excessive work hours has left us in desperate need of more time and is becoming a strong identifier of American culture in the world. As Cummins explains, “We log long hours at work with the fear of losing our jobs through downsizing hanging over our heads. Then we fight rush hour traffic to get home in time to be super-parents, putting dinner on the table, helping our kids with their homework, and checking in with friends and family members we feel we have neglected because we are so overwhelmed” (Cummins 1). This well pa...
Their impacts and implications are either positives or negatives. An influx in the number of immigrants has attributed to the increase in productivity and the productive population in a state. This has in turn resulted in an increase in employment opportunities and revenue earned by the state. An increase in wage gains has also been witnessed in the state, leading to a decrease in dependency levels in the population. The revenue generated from all of this could be used productively in development of the state and country’s economy at
Shift Work: The introduction of shift work mainly depends on safety and productivity of the workers being maintained. However, evidence suggests that safety and productivity of workers may decline at night shifts with more hours on duty between breaks. The shift work system can be improved by introducing more rest breaks (Folkard & Tucker 2003).
The question has been around for many generations, are the two key elements to evaluating a whole economy closely related? Many have studied this topic and all have come out with various results and views as to what they feel defines a relationship between the two. After evaluating the subject, the points will be defined on what may or may not link the two together. Do inflation and unemployment work hand in hand? The results characterize these two as working with one another.
There is a close relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the unemployment rate as it will relate to the decrease or increase of inflation rate. The inflation rate will increase when GDP and unemployment decreases, because it will affect the purchasing power of the people of a particular country.
Unemployment is a macroeconomic factor that is pertinent to an extensive economy at a regional level. Therefore it affects a large population rather than a few select individuals. Unemployment does not only have social costs, but economic costs too. The ILO, International Labour organization, defines unemployment as, ''People of working age, who are without work, but available for work and actively seeking employment.'' Therefore implying that it is a state of an individual looking for a job but not having one. Unemployment is one of the key indicators in determining the economic stability of a country; hence governments, businesses and consumers closely monitor it. There are numerous aspects that might lead to unemployment such as labour market conflicts and recessions in the economy. There are two main types of unemployment, which can be focused on, seasonal and cyclical unemployment. Seasonal unemployment occurs when a person is unemployed or their profession is not in demand during a particular season. On the contrary, cyclical unemployment occurs when there is less demand for goods and services in the market so consequently supply needs to be decreased.
Though these collection action saw a short duration, they made huge strives towards workers’ rights. Congress established the eight hour day

It’s hard to live a normal healthy life without a job and money. There are a variety of reasons why people are unemployed. Being unemployed can cause one to experience financial, emotional, and personal problems.
Unemployment issue can lead to a lot of impacts to the economic growth. Higher unemployment rate will lead to increase government borrowing. When people are without their job, they would paid less in the income tax. So, it will cause a drop in tax revenue because there are lesser people paying income tax and spending less. Due to the loss of earnings to the unemployed, the government need to spend more subsidy for them in housing benefits and income support.
