Part Two-Reflection Paper
I received my MS in Psychology at Texas A&M International University; therefore, I received no writing classes or support. The only formal writing I did was for my British Literature class. I had to learn to write APA on my own, and I read academic papers, receiving my training from them. Texas A&M International University had a writing center, yet no one understood APA, so I used PaperRater, instead. One of the area that I have identified that will help me succeed is this class since I receive feedback on my writing. The Northcentral webinars are particularly instructive, and they cover several characteristics of writing. The webinar proposed underlining in colors. I have a system on my google drive, where I have stored all my classes in folders within folders. For example, there are times when I need to go back to psychopathology class and reference. This is less clutter for me, and I have everything I need to go to consult. My DSM-V is critical to my life, and I have it sectioned in colorful tabs into all the different disorders. Additionally, I have the case studies for the APA. I have joined the SSBS Psych Community club, the Psychology club, APA Style Guidelines club and the LGBTQ club since these are the concentrations that interest me. I will certainly be using this clubs to assist me in my dissertation paper, specifically the SPBS statistics
