Raif Badawi Blog Not all countries have the freedom of speech; some people are brave enough to speak the truth about their beliefs. Having the freedom of speech is the most precious right; it gives people the opportunity of opinion to their own thoughts and beliefs. The freedom of speech is the freedom to speak honestly and not getting in trouble about it. Raif Badawi, a thirty year old man who lives in Saudi Arabia, was brave enough to speak about his thoughts, but he never thought about the trouble he was going to get in. He blogged an article on the internet insulting Islam. He speaks about the tragedy that Americans suffered in September 2001, about how many innocent people lost their lives in the attack. Raif Badawi is the author of this website and the writer of the article that he designed to speak about his thoughts about terrorists. …show more content…

Shahla Khan Salter. She is speaking about the freedom of Raif and how he should be free to enjoy the family. She talks about how the Supreme Court is corrupted. She believes that they took the wrong approach in Raif’s punishment; she goes into depth about how Raif told the court that he was Muslim and he was just expressing is freedom of speech. Even Raif’s lawyer was sentenced to prison for twenty-five years because he was taking his side. Ms. Khan makes an interesting point when she says that the reason they punished him and his lawyer was unconstitutional and should have taken a different approach to his case. She talks about how Saudi and other countries have unstable laws. Which makes their countries look weak and corrupt. Which Raif writes about in is blog. This speech was very emotional and well thought out. Ms. Khan is one of the few people who are speaking out and standing up for what they believe is right, and they never would have done that if it was not for Raif’s blog. He showed other people that it is okay to stand up for what they believe
