A person going into the medical imaging career needs to plan to know specific details about the career, what college or technology school he or she will be attending, the college expenses, knowing the yearly income of a Radiologic Technologist, also finding out the days of the week and hours that are to be worked, the expected change in employment over the next years, and how to build a future off being a Radiologic Technologist. Radiologic Technologists use radiation to produce images of tissue, organs, and vessels that make up the body, as well as cancer, tumors, broken bones, and tumors (Cape Fear Community College). If a person is in the medical imaging field to become a Radiologic Technologist to help people, this part of the job is what grabs their attention, because as soon as they find these problems they omit the images to a doctor that helps take care of it. Radiologic Technologist is a branch of Health Science Cluster Diagnostic services pathway (OkCollegeStart). When a person’s knows where their career choice starts it helps get a better overview of where to start and helps get them where they want to be. Radiologic Technologists review and evaluate developed x-ray, videotape, or computer generated information to determine if images are “satisfactory for diagnostic purposes” (OkCollegeStart). The job requires a person to be active, flexible, and able to handle the work environment, outgoing, and helpful (Santa Fe College). If being a former athlete came easy to an individual, this career would also, because they require the same needs. Radiologic Technologists mainly work midnight shift working seven p.m. to seven a.m. on Friday through Sunday, and to make up forty hours they sometimes work a six hour shift on Thursday (Farmer, Belinda). Students that look forward to the thought of a family with kids, this would be perfect because they could attend school activities, sports, and any other extra-curricular activities. Radiologic Technologist us high-tech, expensive equipment and are an important part of a large medical team (The Society of Radiographers). Technology is interesting when it comes to helping someone, and helping someone makes it even better. Radiologic Technologists place and process x-ray film and position shields to protect patients from radiation (All Allied Health Schools). The slow, step-by-step processes is to assure safety of the image. The new Novel Imaging technique that blends aspects of magnetic resonance imaging with gamma ray imaging is supposed to be easier to obtain
