Racism, if we actually think about it, has always been around in The United States Of America. It is in all of the history we are taught but just thrown in there like it was nothing. For a while people weren’t realizing how alive it was even after the Civil Rights Movement and that includes all races. Racism by definition is prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior. From the beginning of this “great” country there has always been people who thought they were superior to others just because of their physical appearance which allowed for people to take advantage of slavery and enslaving the natives of the African continent. It is taking advantage and suppressing another race for no valid reason because there are no valid reasons for suppression. These stereotypes that everyone uses on each other is just a way of suppressing each other and we don't even realize how negative that is, we’d rather see it as a joke and just laugh about it but it’s a perfect example on how we are and how ignorant we have become to the real problems in this country. The stereotype that were established early on still are very alive and relevant in today's society but we just view them as joke and something that shouldn't be taken seriously.All these years after the movement, people see all of these major problems as minor ones which i can see why because the termination of segregation and Jim Crow laws was a big step in the right way, but i doesn't mean all the problems on racism and the discrimination and stereotype of colored people would just vanish and everything would be perfect.
