Today most athletes are afraid to stand up and speak out against these racial injustices. Some athletes would go as far as saying, “If you don't know what you're up against, you're screwing yourself,"(Eligon, 1). That means that even though most athletes are not oblivious to their surroundings and see that society is not alright; there are still many people who suffer from police brutality and racial profiling. In fact, several incidents were young African American boys or men were killed by cops because of the invisible line that the government pretends and says it does not exist.
