Understanding intersectionality is important in that it helps in identifying the areas where the oppression is hence allowing the discussion on how to solve the issues. It gives people the avenue of advocating for their issues and in most case, women are always the affected group when it comes to inequality. Hence it is important that intersectionality can help in advocating for the rights of women of color.

Understanding intersectionality will ensure that the discrimination which can be experienced in classrooms are put to an end whereby it will allow teachers to treat both race and gender equally without discrimination or prejudice. In addition, it will bring equality based on the services that were being given to students in a classroom thereby creating a friendly environment for learning.
