Often, to get the robot from one un-flat surface to another, the scene would skip over the actual movement of the robot, and R2D2 would appear instantly in its next position. This inconvenience may be overlooked by the average movie-goer, but critics and special effects professionals know that it is possible to make the whole process smoother, and more realistic. How could 10 guards keep 50 prisoners under control? In the movie, “Cool Hand Luke”, guards used a variety of methods to control the prison inmates. They use three methods to discipline the inmate’s such as:“the box, leg-chains, and hard work.”
In Cool Hand Luke, the movie begins with the word, VIOLATION, across the screen. The word is from a parking meter and sets the tone for the entire movie. Luke Jackson, the title character, is arrested for cutting off the heads of the town’s parking meters while drunk, or in legal terms, for destroying municipal property while under the influence of alcohol. When asked why he cut the heads off the parking meters, Luke answers, “You could say I was settling an old score.” While it leaves the viewers believing that he probably received a parking ticket at some time in the past, no clues are given to what the old score may have been.
Being a prisoner has more restrictions than one may believe. Prisoners are told when they should participate in daily activities and what they are allowed to say or do on a daily basis. This is not a life anyone is determined to experience during any period of time. However, all though for most prison life is just a depiction in a movie or on television, it is a reality for many. Their crimes and behaviors brought them into a world of being stripped of their freedom. Those who oversee the prisoners must control order within the brick walls. The third and final prequel to George Lucas's Star Wars trilogy Revenge of the Sith is the midpoint of the Star Wars saga. It is the climax of the Star Wars prequels and leads magnificently and flawlessly into the completion of the original trilogy. The original trilogy led up to a happy ending complete with fireworks and scenes of different planets celebrating. The prequels tell a similar hero's journey, but instead of an affirming story about believing in oneself, it is a dire warning about the dangers of arrogance and greed. We are reminded of human valves fear, hatred, greed, pride and "a failure to listen" which lead to the Dark Side. Compassion, love, and non-violence are the real way to peace and justice. I believe this form of storytelling captures the audience which makes the story memorable to the fans and in my opinion this was a successful combination. The following paragraphs will approach the narrative, similarities by comparing the original trilogy with the new trilogy and analysing the key elements of mise en scene used in particular scenes in the film. By doing this, I will discover how the position, colour and framing expresses the message George Lucas wants the viewers to absorb and remember.
Captain “Lucky Jack” Aubrey, the protagonist in Master and Commander: Far Side of the World, is an excellent example of a leader to both his crew and the audience of the film. Lucky Jack received the nickname because of his tendency to be in the right place at the right time, to win battles and, if necessary, narrowly escape disaster. The movie takes places during The Napoleonic Wars when Great Britain was at with France. Captain Aubrey is the captain of a British battleship, the HMS Surprise, when a much larger French warship, the Acheron, intercepts each other and pursue each other off of the coast of South America. Lucky Jack, as his crew refers him to, is well regarded by his men, who trust him implicitly, even after the first devastating battle and an apparent personal vendetta against the French captain.

Expressions were altered to make the characters more realistic, jerking movements, and subtle inconsistencies in the characters makeup and presentation. Quite possibly one of the most iconic openings in cinematic history is “A Long time ago in a galaxy far far away.” Of course, I am referring to Star Wars. It is such a fascinating and great movie going experience. There have been a total of seven Star Wars films, but in this essay I am going to be focusing on Star Wars: Episode 3- Revenge of the Sith. The film, Of Two Minds, is based on real life accounts of individuals living with bipolar disorder. Before watching this film, I had an idea of what bipolar disorder is , but after viewing this film I was completely mistaken. Previously, I thought being bipolar was going from a “normal” mood to an angry or sad mood in a matter of seconds and could be simply fixed by taking medicine. But my previous thoughts were completely wrong and bipolar disorder is very serious and complicated. I didn’t know the severity of this disease and I think a lot of the general public is uneducated about bipolar disorder as well as mental illness. Terri Cheney describes having bipolar disorder as, “Take the best day you ever had and multiply it by a million, it 's like a flu but one hundred times worse. It 's having flu in your mind."
The collapse of Soviet Russia (USSR) and the overall end to the Cold War can be greatly accredited to a program conceived during the Reagan administration known as Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). Proposed by U.S. President Ronald Reagan on March 23, 1983 the program was eventually nicknamed "Star Wars" by many in the media after the popular 1977 film by George Lucas. The idea was, simply put, a defensive shield surrounding America that would use ground and space-based systems to protect the United States from attack by strategic nuclear ballistic missiles. Soon after its debut many declared that it would accomplish nothing more then increase military spending and create friction among the world's “super powers”. Although the program was very expensive it did help, if not result in America's success in the the permanent end to the USSR already ailed by wars in the middle east and nuclear disasters on Soviet soil.

Robots at this time are socially unacceptable which is important to acknowledge when considering their evolution. The story of Robbie mostly introduces robots, but it also touches on the first rule of robotics. Gloria, the little girl Robbie took care of, was almost killed and Robbie saved her instantly because of the first Law of Robotics and the humans involved delayed their reaction. This is also an example of how robots were superior to humans. Unlike "Robbie," the next story, "Runaround," goes into more detail of the Laws of Robotics.
